Alessia's POV

He bent down to my level and whispered in my ear. "You shouldn't have challenged me, Prince Alex. Now I'll  make you suffer. I will hurt you so much that you'll beg me to kill you."

I raised my head to look at him in the eye. "Then what are you waiting for? Let's start the fun."

He looked taken aback but he masked it quick. I wouldn't say that I wasn't scared. Oh, I was scared out of my life. But a true princess never lets her fears show. If I was going to die, I will die with dignity. I have never begged for something, and I never will. Be it life, or death.

He stepped back and beckoned a soldier towards him.

"Remove the hood." My heart sank. No. I couldn't let them see my face. They would know that I wasn't the prince.

"Not the hood." I spoke in the clearest voice I could. I didn't look away from the prince and neither did he.

"You don't give the orders here."

"Prince William. Not the hood. Do whatever you want with the hood on."

Well, I've done the one thing I wasn't supposed to do. I've made him suspicious. He stepped towards me.

"I don't think I will do that." He said, tearing the turban from my head. My hair came free and my face was revealed. No one said anything for a while.

Then the dude who had splashed water on me spoke up, "You're a girl."

I turned my head to him and said, "Happy realisation."

My turban was dropped to my feet and I looked up at the prince. "What are you waiting for, Prince? C'mon. Do what you were doing."

He looked shocked. "You're a girl."

Anger bubbled inside me. How dare he think less of me just because I'm a girl.

"And? I am still the one who challenged you to a duel. Come on, William. You can't be merciful towards your enemy just because they aren't a man."

The soldiers pointed their swords to me. "You cannot address the crown prince by name."

I smirked. "Oops. I didn't know." It was obviously a lie. I just wanted to instigate them and I did. Just get this over with already.

William raised his palm to stop his soldiers and turned to glare at me. "You shouldn't have done this." He then turned around and left, leaving me bewildered.
