Naruto slowly opened is eyes as the gleam of sunlight shined brightly on his eyes. As he slowly stood up he could feel the sourness from his previous battle is all but gone. He had to admit the nine tailed fox did have some benefits.
After Naruto got dressed he decided he might as well go and join the rest of the team downstairs and get some food. Not eating for a day in a half can make a guy pretty hungry.
As he walked into the dinning area he immediately caught the attention of his team who looked up from there meals hearing Naruto come down the stairs.
Aiko was the first one to react, practically jumping over the table to greet her teammate.
"Naruto! Are you awake!" Aiko shouted excitedly, a role of the eyes from Sasuke at her behavior. Though if you looked closely you could see a small smile playing at his lips at the sight of his teammate up and active again.
Naruto looked at Aiko for a second before rotating the elbow that took the most damage.
"Yah, see I'm as good as new." Naruto said in a calmed voice gaining a relived smile from Aiko.
"That's great, you should join us for breakfast you haven't eaten in a while." Aiko said as she sat back down and gestured to the seat beside her. "You can sit by me, the food is really good." Naruto gave a small nod before he took a seat.
Tsunami walked over and placed a plate of food in front of Naruto, getting a thankful nod from him.
Much to the shock of his team minus Kakashi Naruto removed his mask fully leaving his face in full view of his teammates. Aiko's gaze instantly went to his whisker marks finding them beyond adorable, Sakura looked away while mentally chanting 'Not good looking, not good looking' , though Sasuke just studied his teammates face, he found the whisker marks on Naruto's cheeks to be quite odd but at the same time kinda fitting. Kakashi didn't pay his student much mind, this not being the first time he has saw Naruto's face.
After the Genin snapped out of their shock and continued with their meal making small conversation.  Once they all finish their meal Kakashi gathered them up to talk.
"As I said during breakfast Zabuza is still alive and was most likely saved by the fake hunter ninja. That means that he will mostly likely be attacking again once he is fully healed." Kakashi stated with a serious look.
"That is why we will be training to make are selves more prepared for when Zabuza shows himself next. With that said let's go train." Kakashi said with a eye smile.
In forest near house~
"Alright now that we're here I want you guys to climb these trees." Kakashi announced getting curious looks from all except Naruto. "But Sensei, we already know how to climb trees." Sakura said as she looked from the trees to her sensei. "I know. That's why I want you to climb them without using your hands." Sakura looked at him once again with a clueless expression while Aiko and Sasuke had a look of realization. Their father had told them about the tree climbing exercise not to long ago. Kakashi then demonstrated by casually walking up a tree to the top and then back down. He then threw kunai down to the group of Genin. "Use these to mark your progress. Naruto I assume you already know this exercise." Kakashi asked receiving a nod from the Genin. "Do you know water walking?" Kakashi asked curiously. Naruto looked at his sensei before shaking his head. "No, I haven't worked on it yet." Kakashi gave his student a eye smile before he walked over to him. "I think I can give you a few tips." Kakashi then turned to his other three Genin. "I'm taking Naruto over to a lake to work on water walking I'll be back in a bit to check on your progress." With that said Kakashi and Naruto walked off heading for a near by lake.
Sasuke was the first of the three to pick up and Kunai and run toward the a tree, chakara flowing through his feet. The other two quickly followed as they also began their attempts at the exercise.
Sasuke was able to make it half way up after a few attempts with Aiko not far behind. But much to the surprise of the Uchiha twins Sakura made it to the top on her first attempt. "SASUKE!! Are you impressed!?" Sakura screeched much to the twins annoyance.
'If you ignore her she'll go away, if you ignore be she'll go away.' Sasuke thought over and over again.
Aiko just rolled her eyes while looking at her Pink hair teammate. 'How did she become a ninja'
Ignoring their screeching teammate the twins turned back towards their individual trees to continue the exercise.
Later in the afternoon~
Naruto was able to complete the water walking exercise and was on his way toward his teammates.
When he arrived at the training area he was meet with the sight of a hard at work Aiko and Sasuke who where making it about  2/3 up the tree before falling back down just to repeat the process, and then there was his other teammate who was busy trying to curb her hair with her hand while watching Sasuke with a creepy look on her face. Naruto decided to ignore what every that was and focus on his other two teammates.
Aiko and Sasuke halted in their training upon seeing their blonde teammates arrival. They stared at him for a bit before go back to their training.
After 10 mins of making little to no progress Aiko decide to ask for some advice. After she jumped down from the tree like she had so many other times, she walked over to her blonde teammate drawing the attention of her brother who also stopped his exercise. As Aiko  reached where Naruto was sitting she looked down at him with a shy expression plastered on her face.
"Naruto....maybe...could you help me out a bit.... you know.... on tree walking." Aiko nervously asked not knowing if he would help or not. Though to Aiko's joy Naruto gave her a small nod and stood up.
"Sure, I can give you a few tips." Naruto said with a small smile. Their attention was drawn to Sasuke as he walked up to the two. "Naruto you've done this before, what's the trick?" Naruto looked at the twins for a second before answering. "You need to relax more and let the chakara calmly flow through your feet." With that's said the twins went back to their individual trees before doing as their teammate said. Much to their satisfaction they both flew past their previous mark almost making it two the top. Naruto just looked on with a small smile.
Later on at the house Dinner~
As the team sat down at dinner they talked about how the training went.
"So I assume you were all able to finish your respective exercises." Kakashi asked looking at his Genin. Sakura spoke up before the others could. "That's right sensei. If I'm being honest it was almost to easy, I managed to get to the top on my first try." Sakura spoke proudly. "Your able to have great chakara control because your chakara reserves are so low. So from now on instead of just working on climbing the tree you'll run up and down as long as you can to increase your reserves." Kakashi states with a eye smile. Hearing this instantly made Sakura deflate while Aiko and Sasuke grinned a bit.
Their conversation was cut off when the little boy came down the stairs and glared at the group of ninja.
Inari stood up and slammed his hands down on the table, "Why do you guys bother to try so hard! No matter how hard you train, you're no match for Gato's men! No matter what glorious claims you make or how hard you work when facing the strong, the weak will only end up getting killed!"
Naruto looked at the kid, "You know you're exactly right."
Everyone who had been expecting Naruto to ignore the kid looked over at Naruto in surprise as he spoke.
"The weak will always be defeated by the strong," The blond looked up at Inari, with a hard look. "Gato and his men are weak, there nothing but cowards who pick on people who can't even put up a fight against them. They can only fight against people who don't have the strength, or the will to fight back. Against a fully trained shinobi, a bunch of thugs means nothing." Naruto put his head down on the table as he looked away from Inari, "We are not weak. Don't lump us in the same category as you, we're nothing alike."
Inari's tears began to run down his face even harder than before as he glared at Naruto, "I'm glad we're nothing alike! I'd hate to be like you! You don't know anything about this country, yet you keep being so nosy! What the hell do you know about me! I'm different from you; you're always acting so happy, like you don't even have a care in the world! You don't know how hard life can be!"
Naruto lifted his head up and glared at the kid, unconsciously channeling killing intent into his gaze, enough so that Inari's eyes widened and he began to shake. Having never experienced killing intent, Inari was unable to properly defend himself and was forced to sit back down, as his legs were no longer capable of supporting him.
Listen to yourself, bitching and moaning about your life. Thinking you've got it so hard," Naruto's voice was soft, an almost unnoticeable whisper. Yet it somehow managed to carry across the entire room, and was thick with a rage that even Sakura, oblivious as she normally was to Naruto, could hear.
"You sit here in this home with your loving family, with a mom who cooks for you, and worries about you, and loves you unconditionally. You have a grandfather who is building a bridge so that you and your country can be free of Gato's reign," Naruto snorted at the boy in disgust. "What a hard life. Oh my tou-san died, boo hoo, look at me whine and bitch like some little coward."
Having enough of her teammate berating the kid Sakura stood up and glared at Naruto, "Naruto-baka th-"
"Shut! Up!" Naruto punctuated both words with a harsh glare, his killing intent turning on Sakura who paled and sat down as she found her legs unable to support her.
Naruto turned his gaze back on Inari, "I bet you've never even stepped foot outside this little sanctuary have you? Never even been into the town recently, where children even younger than you have lost their parents, both of them! Children who don't have a mom to cook them food, or a grandfather who's willing to stand against a tyrant for them!"
Naruto remembered his own past, being kicked out of the orphanage at a young age, living on the street for nearly a year. Not being able to buy food from the stores unless it was rotten, being forced to find a lot of the stuff he owned in the garbage cans from the people who had thrown their stuff away.
But most of all he remembered the loneliness he had to deal with.
The glares and harsh whispers people had given him.
'Look it's 'him'!'
'Who does he think he is, walking around this street like he owns the place!'
'Listen you are not to go near that 'boy' again!'
'I'm so glad he didn't become a ninja.'
'Yeah could you imagine what would happen if he did. I mean he's the-'
Naruto gritted his teeth as voices flashed through his mind, "I'm glad I'm nothing like you. You're nothing but a coward, sitting here whining about how hard your life has been when there are people in your own town who have it far worse than you."
Inari's eyes widened as the blond mentioned the rest of the village.
Naruto snorted in disgust before turning around and heading towards the door.
Aiko stood up and was about to go after Naruto until Kakashi stopped her.
"Naruto needs some time to himself, going after him could make things worse." Kakashi stated. Aiko hesitated for a second before she reluctantly sat back down. She could talk to him in the morning.
