Chapter One | Pilot

👑

Macy Jones is a sweetheart; she doesn't have a bad bone in her body; she's kind and polite and just genuinely sweet unless you're Nathan or Dan Scott. If you happen to be one of those two Scott men, know that the nicest person in the universe hates your guts.

👑

Joining the cheer team was a little bittersweet for Macy; she made new friends and got to spend more time on a real basketball court, but she also didn't get to play at the river court as much, like right now she was sitting in the gym stretching while she knew all of her friends where playing at the river and instead of shooting hoops she was waving pompoms and dancing, and although she enjoyed it it would never be as good as playing the game.

The Ravens win again, they almost always do but what can you expect when Nathan Scott is playing and Whitey is Coaching, although Macy could run circles around them both. Most of the players and the cheer team were off celebrating on a school bus when Macy made her way out of the gym, got in her car and drove to the river court, no one was there not this late, so it was just her. Hee and the ball she kept in the back of her car. She was there for hours mindlessly shooting the ball into the hoop, there's no girl's basketball team at tree hill high so the closest she got to the game is the river and to a real court is cheer, there are her only options or at least she thought they where.

Karen's Cafe is Macy's safe haven, her place of work and her favourite place to be at dinner time. The bell rang as Lucas walked into the cafe, greeting his mother with a compliment. Haley and Macy soon appeared from the back with magazines in hand. "The magazine pages are sticky again. Little pervs. Oh, hey, Luke," Haley smiled. "You been reading this?' she teased. Luke only smiled back with a reply "I don't know Haley, is that the why do I hang out with these people? issue, Because you're on the cover of that, right?"

"No, actually, it's the my best friend is an idiot issue, and there you are" Haley said as she pointed to the open page of Macy's Magazine. Lucas let out a sigh as he made his way to a table with a bowl of chile in his hands. "Girls would you like to stay for dinner" Karen asked as she made her way up to the counter, she earned two yeses as the girls dished themselves something to eat and made their way to the table. The group of four fell into a comfortable conversation as they ate, speaking about their days and lives, Macy and Lucas talking about different books and Haley and Karen having no idea what there are on about. It was comfortable and warm, it felt like a second home.

👑

Macy and Lucas were sitting in a corner of the library, both working on homework for different classes, Macy silently glaring at Nathan Scott in between sentences for more than a few reasons.

Coach Durham walked into the library, scanning the room before shouting, "Scott!" Nathan and Lucas both looked up, and Nathan replied under the assumption his coach was speaking to him; when coach clarified that it was Lucas he wanted, he beckoned the boy out of the room, leaving Macy alone at the table; well, not for long.

A blonde girl was quick to approach Macy asking if she could join her, Macy replied with a nod and the girls continued to sit in an awkward silence for a few minutes before the blonde spoke up "You play basketball with the boys at the river court right?"

"Um, yeah, I have for years, why?" Macy let out a little unsure of where this was going.

The blonde looked at her hands, sighing slightly and shaking them out before looking back up and replying "I have an idea and I don't know how to execute it, and I was told you were like really smart and that you were great at basketball and well I need someone that is both those things, so will you help me?"

Macy blinked struggling slightly to process the information that was just said to her. "Well how about we start with your name and then we can talk about your idea"

The girl finally smiled "Sorry, I'm Jaimie ...

👑

Macy blew off the river court boys and instead found herself in Jaimie's House, both girls were sitting on Jaimie's bed, Macy running through the facts "So, you want to start a girl's basketball team at tree hill, your loaded ass parents have agreed to fund it and you need me to figure out how to get us a full team and make it a school recognised team, am I correct?"

"Yep, Pretty much" Jaimie nodded, since the girls had started talking in the library they have become much more comfortable around each other, Macy Learned that Jaimie was a new student and that she was the captain of her old school's girls basketball team and so when she found out that her new school didn't have a girls team she wanted to change that.

Macy started to devise a plan and it started with a trip to the principal the next morning.

👑

Macy and Jaimie pitched the idea of a girls' basketball team to the principal. Thanks to Macy's expert presentation, the girls were told that if they could get enough girls to form a team to sign up, they could take it to the parent council to have it officially signed off. If they are successful, Tree Hill High will have a girls' basketball team and a chance of becoming nationally ranked in both girls' and boys' high school basketball.

The pair created fliers and posters and spread them everywhere in hope that they could get at least ten girls to come to tryouts after school.

And they were successful they got ten girls, exactly ten, And so a Parent Council meeting was scheduled for the next day.

👑

They got their team. Macy and the rest of the girls could not believe how easy it was to do, but I guess when they don't have to put any money towards it and tell us that we can have the gym in the morning before school and on Fridays, before the boy's games begin, it's pretty easy to sign off on.

👑

"wait, so Lucas and Nathan are playing each other; how could you guys not tell me?" Macy asked as she, Skills, Jimmy and Mouth sat on the bench at the river court. "well, you've been off with your new friends creating a girl's team," Mouth said.

Macy slung her arm around Mouth's shoulder, kissing his cheek before laughing "Aww, don't tell me you're jealous"

HE scoffed pushing her arm off him "No i feel bad for them, you are doing to destroy them when you run your first practice. Now, shush, I need to pay attention."

Macy turned back to the court, looking at Lucas, shooting him a smile before the game began. Lucas took the first shot, making it. Nathan elbowed Lucas in the nose to be able to take a shot. Gasps went out across the crowd as Lucas spat blood before walking back to Nathan to continue the game. Lucas blocked Nathan's next shot and then made his own from the centre line. Lucas was one down until he took another shot from the centre, tying the game up. The next point wins. Macy was screaming jumping up and throwing herself into Lucasies arms as he made a winning shot.

Everyone had left the court, and Macy made her way back to her car and started her hour-long drive to the town over just to go to bed.
