I gazed up at her today,
The sun with all her effluent rays.
And notice, I could not but help,
The joy it brought me, within my self.Downward then I did cast my eyes,
Filled with hope, and filled with pride.
The beautiful luscious green grass to see,
Free and beautiful as it can be.With an upward gaze I did discover,
I hummingbird there, caught in a hover,
Around me he darted, this way and that,
Tiny and lean, as quick as a cat.His belly was Crimson, his head was green,
His whole body shined with some sort of sheen.
I marveled today at the wonder of nature,
Upon whom our lives we continue to wager.A wind blew in then, cool and clean,
And I felt like the heaven smiled at me.
Then the rain began to fall, large droplets all around,
Feeding the earth, healing the ground.I stood there, and I smiled,
And I stayed there for a while.
And concluded, I did indeed,
That man too these words should heed;
Be joyful, be happy, oh I implore thee be wise,
Be hopeful 'till you see her,
With your own two eyes.
