CHAPTER 3 | Embrace

He ran towards her, his heart racing and aching inside. "Hey, what happened?" He touched her hands, to which she flinched hard, but once her teary and red eyes looked up to meet jungkook's gaze, she started crying like a baby, making him worry even more.

"J-Jungkook... s-seungmin was here.." she stammered, her red eyes were drowning in tears as she put her hands against her ears once again. "seungmin..? He almost whispered as his head tilted in the direction of the main door, and to his greatest relief, it was locked. He gazed back at her with his concerned eyes, her worsening state was worrying him and making it hard to think properly. "Look at me y/n. There's no one here. It's only you and me.."

"n-no Jungkook..he is here, I saw him" she shook her head, her painful cries echoing through the house but breaking his heart. "Where did you saw him?" He asked softly, though he could feel his heart pound inside at the anxiousness. She peeked up at him, not even completely looking up as if she was afraid of doing so. "I-I was drinking water.. but then I felt someone behind me, and he was there when I turned back.." a sudden hiccup makes her choke on her own words, and she looks at him with tears, "h-he was going to hit me with the flower vase" she sobbed, her voice cracking after each words she pronounced.

Her words took him back, but neglecting all the rage inside his veins, he cupped her face to wipe her tears away. "Where is he now?" He asked, and her shaking hand lifted up to point at the room at some distance behind him. "He ran inside the guest room..." He turned back his head to look at the closed door, but then gazed back at her. "Wait here for me, I am going to check there-"

"No, jungkook...please..he is going to hurt you" she held his wrist between her fragile hold, and his eyes softened at her miserable state.

"My love..." He sighed but stood up, making her look up at him with her blurry gaze. He bent down to put his hands under her arms and pick her up and make her sit on the kitchen slab. "We need to check if he's actually here. And no one's ever going to hurt you or me, I promise" he smiled at her to make her tears stop, but she didn't returned the same expressions, making his smile drop. "Let's go and see who's there. I am going to take you in my arms and protect you from all the bad people and things" He leaned forward to hold her in his arms like a baby with her bare legs around his waist and arms around his neck.

Walking towards the room with her, he twisted the metallic handle and opened the door. "Jungkook.." her feeble voice trembled and he felt her arms eventually tightening her hold around him and cry, making him wonder what did she actually saw or imagined to be this scared.

"I'm right here" he whispered in her ears and opened the lights, his eyes roaming around every corner of the room. "You don't have to be scared, love, you can see that there's no one." He assured and walked further inside to sit on the bed with her. "You can look around, there's no one"

She pulled her face away from his neck slowly, but her bloodshot red eyes and tears stained cheeks breaks his heart all over again. "There is no one...?" Her timid voice reverberated through her throat while her eyes roamed around the room before looking back into his eyes. "yes, there is no one" he wiped her tears again and leaned back on the headboard to rest his head on it and look at her.

"But I saw him.." she mumbled before sinking her head in the crook of his neck to damp it with her tears. "You just had a hallucination baby, he is not here. All the doors are properly locked and the guard are outside, there is no way he can enter inside" he spoke while his hands went up and down her spine to caress her and soothe her. "but, why are you so afraid of him?" He asked, though it might not be the very right time to ask her this question.

He felt her clutch the back of his hoodie between her fingers, "I-I don't know...I am not afraid of him..it's just..it's just me and my stupid problems.." a shuddering exhalation went through her lips. "No, it's not just you, and your problems aren't stupid. It's okay if you don't want to talk about it, but I'm always here with you..you can tell me or not, but I'm here"
