The clock above the front door read 12:23 pm. 23 minutes past the time my first client was supposed to be here. Seven more minutes till I fill their spot with other work.
This is exactly why I make clients put down a deposit. Half the time they don't show up and I get a measly $75-$100 deposit that clients don't get back weather they show up or not. When they don't show, I miss out on more money I could have made. This client was supposed to start a half sleeve today and it took me three days just to draw the piece up. Looks like this piece is about to just go into my portfolio of undone work. More pieces for other clients if they like it.
12:25, five more minutes that I get to just sit here and do nothing. I seriously hate when people do this. The least they could do is have enough decency to call and reschedule or something; but wasting my time is fine too, I guess.
"Another no show?"
I look away from the clock and see Drew standing next to me with that stupid smirk of his plastered to his face.
The thing with Drew is I can't fucking stand him 99% of the time. Most of the time he is trying to flirt with me or trying to tease me, which just annoys the fuck out of me. The only time he is bearable to be around, with is literally only 1% of the time I have to see him, is when David is around and he is forced to keep things professional.
12:27, three more minutes.
"Wow, Drew, what could possibly make you think that?" I mumbled annoyed.
He chuckles and leans his nasty ass on my desk, "oh come on, Em, lighten up!"
I cringe at him calling me Em and groan, "do me a favor, Drew. Get the hell off my desk and stay out of my room, like forever. Go bother Khloe or something."
12:29, one more fucking minute.
Clearly the client isn't coming and I'm starving. I need food, so I might as well just go now while I still have some open time. I grab my purse and phone then shove Drew off my work space and out of my room before heading for the front door.
"Where are you going?" David asks as I pass him.
"McDonald's, want anything?"
"No, just be back in a few minutes, 30 tops. I hired a new guy a few days ago and he's starting today and I want everyone to officially meet him."
I roll my eyes and push the door open, "yep, got it David."
Of course as soon as I start walking away from the shop, I run right into someone. Strong arms reach out and catch me by my waist, stopping me from falling back onto my butt. I look up quickly and see the most gorgeous green eyes I've ever seen.
The light is hitting them at just the right angle making them appear to be a bright forest green with a ring of hazel surrounding the edges. It's like this mans eyes are drawing me in- I could stare at them all day long but the rest of his face finally grabs my attention.
Strong jaw, perfect cheekbones, and perfect plump lips. Aside from his perfect freaking face, he seems to be completely covered in tattoos. His neck is covered and there are a few on his head that I can see peaking through his hair. His arms, that are partially wrapped around my waist still, are decorated with beautiful designs and portraits and don't even get me started on the raw muscle I can feel pressed against my chest and wrapped around my torso. Between the muscle and all the tattoos- as well as that perfect fucking face- any sane person would be swooning.
"Take a picture, it lasts longer," he says letting me go and pulling me from my thoughts on how hot this dude is.
"What?"
