Hazel is having a bit of a holiday away from home, mainly because her parents just want her to relax a bit. So they send her off to an urban town, a supposedly peaceful place.
And every day she would go to this lovely little café, where she learns that people are 1. Being found dead or 2. They just go missing. Naturally Hazel makes a note to herself and then figured that she should be careful, but stay out of this town's drama just so she doesn't become one of the victims to end up dead or missing. "Guess mom and Dad didn't do much research of this town.."
Now unfortunately, it does end up becoming her business because someone would give her small gifts and letters each time she'd come to this Café, it's like they knew she'd be there, what would be in those letters or gifts would be small clues relating to the disappearances but not the murders.
And whoever this person is makes it very clear that if she goes to the cops, she'll be dead.
