Mark has been living in his apartment complex for a few years now. He's grown accustomed to the neighbors around him and the routines of his daily life. But one day, he notices a new face moving in across the hall.
It's a young man, around the same age as Mark. He's tall, with a lean build, and jet-black hair that falls to his shoulders. Mark can't help but feel drawn to him, and he finds himself watching from his peephole whenever the man leaves or enters his apartment.
One day, they bump into each other in the hallway. The young man introduces himself as Alex and mentions that he's new to the city. Mark can't help but notice how nervous Alex seems, and he offers to show him around and give him some tips for getting around.
As they spend more time together, Mark finds himself becoming increasingly attracted to Alex. He admires his intelligence, his wit, and his kind heart. But he's not sure if Alex feels the same way.
One evening, as they're hanging out in Mark's apartment, they end up watching a movie together. They sit close to each other on the couch, and Mark can feel his heart racing. He can't tell if it's the excitement of the movie or the presence of Alex beside him.
As the credits roll, Alex turns to Mark and thanks him for being such a good friend. Mark's heart sinks, and he realizes that he may never be able to tell Alex how he truly feels.
