A Fictitious Story- Lovely Creature

Prologue

O

nce upon a time a young girl took her first deep breath as she stepped out to the world she had no idea of.

Sensing her mother´s breathing and heart race, the baby looked up at her creature´s face. Her mother smiled down to the screaming girl in her arms, while the father stood beside them and hugged them both. When the baby stopped to scream and went over to sleep, they all sensed a difference in the air.

The girl looked nothing like they had imagined; she had two big and beautiful eyes that reminded them of an angel, small and fragile fingers and a strong heart that pumped the blood around in her body. Her parents adored her and the nurses used to say an angel was born. But they knew she wasn´t an angel, they knew she wasn´t like all the other infants.

You see, the girl wasn´t nearly to what they called human.

Time passed on and the girl grew up together with her parents in a big white house in the cold country of Sweden. She used to play with dolls instead of other children, preferring the silence instead of laughter.

But it wasn´t until she began school the teachers noticed a strangeness in the girl.

She was a little bit stronger and healthier than the other children in her class. She neither got sick, nor did she fall down and get a scratch on her knees as the rest of the children at her age did.

As she grew up she found a new friend that wasn´t a doll, but a boy. The girl and the boy used to spend their free time risking their lives when jumping from trees and seeking the nearest threat.

You see, the boy was as… normal, as the girl was; he wasn´t human. But the world lived in the peacefully thought that they didn´t exist. They didn´t know there were such things as creatures.

While the children, who yet not had filled ten years old, lived as satisfied and unknown of the world as a child did, their parents did all they could to protect them from what could be their worst nightmare; dark creatures they also called death. A dark creature was very different from the warrior creature; every once in a month when it was full moon they turned into monsters and beasts. To survive from starvation they hunted down warrior creature and ate their hearts. Since the moon made them stronger and hungrier, they became very lethal to human kind- and warrior creature.

Even though their parents tried to do everything they could to protect the children, the day of fear arrived.

It was on a rainy day when the girl and the boy stayed inside the house, playing Nintendo, while the girl´s parents were out for a little while. It didn´t take more than four minutes after her parents had left, when something -or rather someone- tried to make its way inside the house of safety. The children didn´t notice the strange smell of melted metal and the sound of something finally open up. In this right moment, they both tried to win the current game. They were so concentrated on winning, that they didn´t even hear the alarm set on.

Meanwhile, downstairs walked a young man and woman in, carefully and very alert. They had watched the children for a month as the day of full moon was getting closer. They both looked very young, even though neither one of them were younger than hundred years old.

The man took the lead and walked in front of the woman, scratching his chest of hunger. Their senses were three times better than warrior creatures, so they could hear the children´s heart beat loudly as they began moving upstairs. The woman started to giggle, but the leader in front of her turned his head at her direction and held out a hand for her to stop. She looked sharply over at him with her blue eyes and they both listened. Something was wrong, and they stood still as they detected that the TV from upstairs grew quiet.

While the dark creatures were lurking in the stairs, the children had heard the sound of the third step creak.

The girl immediately looked down to her wrist and let out a sound of pain; she showed the boy what looked like a birthmark but with the difference that it glowed.

In the next second, she took the phone from the sofa and dialed the number to her mother’s cell phone. The boy picked up a sharp knife and held it, shaking and tumbling, in his hand. They had been taught that the safest way to kill a dark creature was to pierce a knife into the level of where the heart should have been.

So there they were; two children, preparing themselves to fight along with two old dark creatures who longed for their hearts.

   It all happened so quickly.

In one moment, there was nothing besides the silence and the two of them. In the next second, they looked into four pairs of blue eyes. As the woman stretched her hand out to grab the girl, they all heard the outside door from downstairs smash open.

A sharp nail came into view and almost pierced the girl’s skin. When she was inches from her death, the girl saw a familiar hand drag the woman away from her. She opened her eyes even more and saw surprisingly her father stand in front of her, taking care of the threat.

It didn´t take long time before they killed the dark creatures. But what they saw and felt that day would stick to their mind as long as they lived. That night was the first time the boy and the girl had seen a murder in front of their eyes. Beyond all this, they could smell and feel the blood stink on themselves and all around them. They even saw the red blood on the Nintendo.

The girl could feel her mother holding her close to her beating hear, while she looked over to the remains of the dark creatures. It was the sight of the woman that caught her off guard; at the place where her heart should have laid she saw a knife. Dark blood, like ink, had stopped to dwell out and her shirt was soaked in blood.

When the girl took a look at her eyes, she immediately regretted it. The ice blue color, that reminded her of a peacefully sky, still looked over at her, now with dead sight.

This is the story of a young girl who witnessed her first murder when she was barely ten years old. When most of the girls at her age lived safely and played with dolls, she prepared herself to fight. By the time when her classmates had boyfriends and girlfriends, she stepped out from her childhood and killed her first dark creature.

This is the story of Elena Jones, who learned life was all about fights and kill. It isn´t a lovely story, not even close being a wonderful one.

But then again, Elena wasn´t like everyone else.
