!!!Swearing!!!

As Blakely Adams  turned the door handle to her house she had a void growing in her stomach. Blakely however didn't listen to her gut, she opened her front door. The second she stepped in, the smell of alcohol immediately hit her.  "Mom, I'm home." she called, but no noise could be heard within the house. The fourteen year old figured her mom wasn't home. That theory was completely opposite. Blakely walked into the living room, expecting to find it empty. Adams let out a loud gasp. As she saw the body of her dead mother. It had been clear on what happened, her mother overdosed on drugs. Although the girl never deeply cared for her mother she still got tears in her eyes. She quickly grabbed her phone from her back pocket to call her eldest brother, Benjamin. As her phone rang a few times, her brother finally picked up. "Blakely, is everything alright?" He said  from the other side of the phone. "Ben," She said using his nickname. "I don't know how to say it but, can you just come home please." She finishes as her voice starters to crack. "Yeah I'll be home in ten minutes." He says as he hangs up the phone. While she was waiting for her brother to come be a hero, all she could do was stand there. Stand there looking at her mother. With no concept of time ten minutes flew by. "Blake?" Ben said from the door . The Adams girl turned and quickly hugged her brother. "Blakely, I'm going to need you to tell me what happened." The eldest Adams brother said, while coming out of the hug. Blakely collected herself enough to tell him, "I came home, and I saw mom." The girl takes a deep breath before continuing, "Mom, she's dead."  Benjamin was facing away from the body of his deceased mother, so he had now idea what Blakely was saying. He quickly turned his head looking to see his mother laying on the couch, dead. Even though he wanted to cry he didn't. He didn't want to look weak in front of his sister. "Ok, go to your room and start packing. I'm going to call Nico."  The boy said scrammering to find his phone. His mind was in a haze of grief.

Blakely went to her room to start packing while her eldest brother called her other older brother. Even from her room she could feel the conversation between her brothers talking. Or atleast what Benjamin was saying. "Nico, I need you to come home. Don't question it, just come home please." After a minute Benjamin follows up with a thank you then ends the call. Blakely starts packing up her clothes and some personal things. She walks down with a suitcase trailing behind her.  Around ten minutes later Nico walks through the door, "Hey what going on?" Nico said while walking towards Blakely. As she was about to talk Benjamin walks in announcing "I just got off the phone, they will take mom in the morning. For now Nico and I will go pack." He then drags Nico to their shared bedroom. Although Blakely couldn't hear what was happening she could assume that Benjamin was telling Nico what was happening.

Soon Blakely and her brothers headed to the car. The two boys sat in the front while Blakely had the whole back to herself.  Blakely put her airpods in and started to listen to her music. For most of the drive she just stared out of the window.  Finally she muscled up the courage to ask Benjamin, the question that has been pressing on her mind ever since the siblings entered the car.

"Ben, where are we going?" Her eldest brother who was driving the car looked in the rear view mirror quickly but then focused his gaze on the road again.  "There is a house in Michigan that we are going to be staying at." He said, obviously sounding and looking stressed.  "How long?" Blakely asked him,  she was annoyed with the matter of the fact that she didn't get a definite answer. "Blakely I don't know, ok!" He says as he starts to raise his voice. "Just stop asking questions." He was now yelling. "Jeez, I'm sorry." Blakly mocked her older brother.  "You know what to hand me your phone." He said in a very serious and strict voice. "What why?" She questioned. "Why can't you just listen?  Just give me your fucking phone." He screamed as Blakely felt herself sink in the seat. Ben never swore at anyone, especially Blakely. "Ok." Blakely mumbled as she gave her phone to Nico, while Ben was driving.

For some more of the drive she rested her eyes. She could still hear the conversation between Nico and Benjamin.  "Wasn't that a little harsh?" Nico questioned in a whisper as he actually thought that Blakely was asleep. "No, she needs to learn. The world is going to treat her even worse." Benjamin replied in a normal voice. "I mean yeah, but she has already been through so much just today." Nico said as he looked back at Blakely. "You try being fourteen years old, being home alone and see your mom dead on the couch." He finished his many rants, defending Blakely to Benjamin. "Yeah well she was my mom too." Benjamin states not taking his eyes off the road.  "Well no shit Sherlock, she was my mother too, but I'm not being an asshole to my little sister." Nico says as he is getting annoyed with Ben's behavior.

Blakely opened her eyes to stop any other bickering that could happen between the two older boys. "Benjamin I'm sorry." She says in a tired and strained voice. Even though he could hear her he still ignored her. "Ben?" Her voice trailing at the end but, yet she was still ignored. "Ben please." Tears formed in her eyes. All that was on her mind was the fact that she thought her brother hated  her. "Blakely if you don't shut up, I will make you walk all the way to Michigan." He said through gritted teeth. His hold on the steering wheel tightened. His knuckles started turning white. The tears that had formed started falling down her face. She silently cried, while her mind was racing. All she could think about was how stupid she was. About how she wishes she never said anything.  Nico looks behind him to see  Blakely is a mess. Her face was stained with tears. Eyes puffy and swollen. "Benjamin, pull over." Nico said. A frustrated Ben reluctantly pulled over.  Once the car came to a full stop, Nico spoke "Look you two are going to leave the car and talk it out." From the rear view mirror Blakely saw Ben roll his eyes. She slowly opened the car door and stepped out. Ben followed these actions but at  a much faster pace. When they faced each other Blakely stood there awkwardly. Ben however had a wash of guilt come over him. Blakely was the first to speak, "I'm sorry." She had tried her hardest to speak loudly but it came out more as a mumble. Ben sighed while running his fingers through his hair. "No, I'm sorry. I was being an asshole. I'm sorry." Ben said with a sympathy smile towards the girl, who stood there with mascara smudged on her cheeks.

Blakely quickly clang around her brother's shoulders. Ben quickly picked her up, in response she wrapped her legs around his waist. All they did was stay like that, as Blakely cried into his shoulder. He started to play with her hair, to calm her down. Soon Blakely fell asleep on his shoulder. When the pair got to the car, Ben got in the back still holding Blakely. Nico was already in the driver's seat. Ben started to draw small circles on her back putting her into an even deeper sleep. Soon both were asleep, as Nico smiled very proud of the fact that he got his siblings to make up.
