After undergoing a scan, Skye was already a stressed and excited mess. She's never been to Italy before, but since she's heard of it by family members, she's always been talking about it, as a child, and in early adulthood. And now she can. Her nerves were completely overwhelmed to the point where she was shaking and talking to herself. "It's finally time! It's finally time! You'd NEVER believe how long I've been YEARNING for this day to come! OK, calm down, Skye! Just pull up your owl from your purse, and you'll be fine!" And she does exactly that, while trying to breathe. A relaxed, but apprehensive facial expression shows after taking the owl out her purse. Skye walks over to turn in her ticket and boards the plane. After 5 minutes of eating snacks, and 3 hours of napping, she's finally in Rome and the first to walk out the plane. Exploring the place for a while, Skye's encountered by Service Dog, trying to lead her to its handler, whom is unconscious on the sidewalk. She calls 911, and tries to monitor the dog's handler, waiting for someone to arrive. After 15 minutes, Emergency Services arrive and take care of the person on the ground and the dog. A lapis lazuli necklace is left on the ground, a note next to it, reading, "It's yours now, Aurelia." The same apprehensive and relaxed expression shows on Skye's face, but slightly guilty. As if she's sorry she couldn't be there when loads needed her. Skye walks away from the scene, in search of a hotel. She was born in a humbly wealthy family, so she could pay for whatever, including luxury, but like her parents, she was taught to save money, so they never end up in poverty. She starts asking around for a cab. Skye's fluent in Italian, but she's never known how she is.
(Italian Language)
"Excuse me, do you know where there's an available cab?"
"Oh, no. I'm sorry. I'm trying to look for one myself."
"I see. Well good luck."
"You, too."
(Norwegian Language)
Skye sighs, "Guess I'm walking."
After a good 50 blocks, she finally made it to a hotel. After paying for, and finding her room, she opens the door and it looks exactly like she imagined it.The moment she inhales the air conditioning, she walks into her bedroom, and jumps on the bed. She was always like this, even as a child when she and her parents go to a hotel. She then just explores the room for a little.
Next Day
People around Skye are giving her intimate, devoting looks of relief, and Skye's wondering why, but doesn't think about it for too long. In a rush to finding something that could give information about "Aurelia", whom she's figured online as "Aurelia Lucia", she finds the same handler who was unconscious on the sidewalk. He looks up, freezes in shock and runs immediately to her to thank her.
(Italian Language)
"Thank you! Thank you so much!"
"Oh, no need to thank me! If it weren't for your service dog to lead me, you'd be.. Well, I don't wanna think about that. Still, no need."
(Hmm.. Loads are acting strangely around me. As if they're happy I'm here"), Skye thinks.
"Well thank you, still. Truly."
"Oh. Maybe in return, you could tell me about this legendary gladiator? Aurelia Lucia?"
"Uh- hmm.. well, I do know she's fought for peace in the world. But, she'd died before the Common Era."
"Hmm."
("Sounds familiar...")
"Is that enough?"
"Plentifully. Thanks!"
"I'm Skye."
"Darius."
Darius holds a hand out for Skye to shake, and she accepts. Then they depart, only for Skye find something else in her hand. A Ruby bracelet with rhinestones around it.That same expression appears on her face, more relaxed than apprehensive.
