It's been 2 years since Salem was defeated. Team RWBY and Team ORNJ are staying at a new Huntsman HQ, sitting around and waiting for a mission to come up.
Ruby: Are you sure there's nothing we can do?
Oscar: Yes Ruby. Team FNKI Is handling the perimeter check and there is some Gang activity going on but Team CFVY has it covered.
Ruby: Maybe we can help them? Is there a lot? The perimeter is pretty big.
Yang: Ruby, relax, it's ok, it's just a slow day. Take the opportunity to unwind and take a break.
Nora: you know, I've been thinking. You four literally saved the world and defeat the biggest threat to ever live. If I were you, I'd call quits after that.
Ren: Nora's right, You've all earned the right to retire and start your lives.
Ruby: Retire? I don't know if that's a great idea. *she looks worried about something, everyone starts getting concerned*
Blake: Ruby, Are you ok? You've been like this ever since we beat Salem.
Ruby: I just, I feel like if I'm not fighting Grimm or stopping some sort of crime then I'm... useless.
Weiss: Hey. Look at me Ruby Rose. The last thing you are is useless. I- *she's interrupted by Oscar getting an alert.*
Oscar: *checks the alert and is in shock* Well, you wanted Grimm to fight, there's an attack downtown, and Neo's been spotted too. *Team RWBY and Jaune all look at each other wide eyed*
Jaune: Didn't she stay and ascend in the Ever After?
Blake: I guess she found something to come back to in Remnant. *everyone turns to Ruby, who looks worried*
Oscar: we can worry about that when we get there, come on. *he grabs Ozpin's cane and runs off, Jaune, Ren, and Nora quickly following.*
Weiss: *grabs her saber* this discussion is not over, we're all talking about this later. *she runs out, Blake and Yang give Ruby an Affirming look and the three of them join up with Weiss*
The Eight of them get downtown and begin doing their job. Oscar, Jaune, Blake, and Nora split off to help civilians escape while Ruby, Weiss, Yang, and Nora work on fighting the Grimm.
Jaune: *pulls Ruby aside* Keep an eye out for Neo, you know what to do if you find her.
Ruby: I do, and believe me, I'll be looking for her. *charges at one of the Grimm as Jaune goes off to help any injured. While she's fighting she notices Neo seemingly stuck* Neo. *she rushes over tries to pull her closer* We need to talk. *Neo keeps swatting at her and shooing her away, but to no avail.*
Jaune: *notices a birdlike faunus girl with hair that's a similar shade to Ruby's and black wings* Blake, I need a hand here. *helps her up with Blake's help* Are you ok?
Girl: Yes, I'll be fine, thank you. *her golden eyes start to glow and she smiles* Now let me help you. *she starts flying up*
Blake: we should probably get away.
