We all knew it was coming. That day where something major changes.
That day came for us, and we had to move into our new dorm.
It was a clean, but relatively tiny apartment with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There would be 2 rooms with 3 people, and 2 rooms with 2 people, and then the girls had a bathroom and the boys got one too.
We had had another meeting so we could all decide on furniture. We all got the same bed and a small desk to work on, and every room got a bunch of storage, cabinets, nightstands, stuff like that.
The only thing we fought over was the couch. It needed to be big. Should we get 2? Extra chairs? We wouldn't all fit in it anyway. Should we get a nice rug to sit on the floor comfortably? No, we should just use blankets if we want to sit on the floor!
Eventually, they chose a boring greyish L-shaped couch because we couldn't decide. It was okay, I guess.
It's not like you could see the couch, with all the stuff here.
The trucks with all of our belongings in it had been emptied and put in our living room.
To decide the roommates and who got which room, we played a bunch of games and had not yet unpacked.
The atmosphere was still dense and awkward. Usually, when you don't like someone, you just ignore them and don't bother annoying yourself by thinking about them. But when you have to live together for a year, you can either decide to make it the worst year of your life, or be a decent person, and try to make it work.
In the end, all that had made it hard to like each other was our debut day. It was clear that all of us had taken the chance at trying to forget our rivalry and become friends.
I'm just kidding. I still hate them. I'm only acting normal because making it worse sounds bad.
Dohyun and Kitae shared a room, and Chanwoo, Hyunsik, and Kangmin.
Me and Anna, and then Jiwon, Soobin, and Yujeong.I was roommates with Anna in our other dormitory too, and I was happy that it was us two alone from now on. We liked to work on music until late, and it would bother Soobin all the time. I never understood why she never switched rooms, until one day I walked into the youngests' room and saw the mess on the floor and the beds, everywhere. Maybe this fresh start would change things up.
When the roommates were decided, it was around lunchtime, but we couldn't eat because we had to unpack everything.
The producer came to us when we were done unpacking most things and said that for the first episode, we should have a party as housewarming.
Our clothes and toiletries were stored away pretty quickly, but everything else was left in boxes in the rooms and hallway.
Soobin had convinced us to put our bedsheets on our beds in advance because we'd be too tired to do it after the party, which I was thankful for.
We were all sitting on the grey couch in our living room while they were all filming. It was a little, how do you say it, invading? They would be gone soon, but I was tired from all the unpacking and games we had already played.
"We should split up. We need groceries and cooks and entertainment; who likes cooking? Put your hand up."
Only Soobin, Dohyun, and Kangmin put up their hand, but the cooking team was assembled.
"Okay, who's getting groceries, and who wants to stay here and be the entertainer tonight?"
Our job is to be entertainers, and of course, we all enthusiastically fought for a spot as entertainers, but it couldn't be.
