To you who have betrayed me
The people that played me
The people that say im their friend
Then stabs me in the back
Who loves attention and uses me to get it
My wall protects me from people like you

To you who have belittled me
The people who have tried to crush my spirit
To be your puppet, a zombie with no feelings or soul
The people who want me to stay silent, to be seen and not heard

To you who have overlooked me
The people who think very little of me
No matter what i do it's never enough
Whenever there is an important job
You never choose me to fulfill it
My wall protects me from people like you

My wall keeps me strong, it is;
To keep people out who aren't worth my tears
To keep people out who aren't worth my time
To keep people out who aren't worth my breath
To keep people out who aren't worth knowing who i really am

But it has its downsides,
Its not a door that can be opened and closed .
Its blocks out some of my trust, love and compassion
As well as my fear,sadness and disappointment

To you who will try to break me, i dare you to try
No one is breaking down these walls apart from me
