"And then I looked around the house, for anything else stolen. It was quite disappointing, I never got to have that dinner with Niall and my dad,"
I shut the journal.
"What kind of ending is that?!" She crossed her big blue eyes and stuck her tongue out at me. "I wanna hear more!"
"Not more tonight, Chloe. You have to go home and sleep!" I chuckled and helped her off the bed.
Audrey came in and picked Chloe up. "Thanks again, Mom. You know how much she loves that story!" She smiled and nodded at me.
"You girls leaving now?" I said. Chloe tugged on her mom's jacket. "Let's stay here and hear more story!"
"No no no, you better get home and get some rest," I grinned at her.
"Bye, Grandma Emily!" She waved and skipped out the door. "See you later Mom," Audrey said, and ran out to get Chloe.
I was tired.
Not in a sleepy way.
A kind of peaceful, finishing way. I was happy to be finished with my story. The ending had worked out, almost.
And to think it all started with a bakery.
And one rascal of a boy.
