My day started out okay. I mean, I didn't have to hear Linh begging me to do something or other. I dressed in all black except for a gray tunic. Then I leaped to Everglen. I was going to ask Biana to come have lunch with me. We had gone out plenty of times, but today I was going to ask her to officially become my girlfriend. I walked up the staircase and paused outside Biana's door. The door was open, and I pulled shadows around me to surprise her.

I crept into her room. Biana was in the corner of her room. Her arms were around...Keefe's?... neck and his arms were around her waist. Keefe pulled her closer to him and suddenly they were making out. Keefe kissed Biana's neck as she came up for air. I don't know how long I stood there watching that. I was in a trance. I finally pulled myself away from the sight and walked out of the room. I was creeping as fast as I could, but not fast enough to avoid hearing Biana say, "I think I love you, Keefe."

That pushed me over the edge. Tears involuntarily leaked down my cheeks. I ran out the door.  I breathed deeply and heard someone sobbing. It was a pitiful sound, not unlike a cat meowing. It was coming from a willow tree.

I ran to the tree and found a weeping Sophie. Not knowing what else to do I wrapped my arms around her back. She turned around and buried her face in my chest. Her tears soaked my shirt, but I didn't mind. I felt like I was helping someone. It made me felt like maybe Biana didn't need to be the biggest part of my life. She cried for a long while until finally, her crying ceased into small hiccups. Through all of that I held her close.

"Want to talk?" I asked her, my voice barely a whisper. "No- Wait, yes. It's probably not a good idea for me to be alone right now. Just not here." She said, her voice wavering as if a slight breeze would knock her over. Sophie's face was tinted pink and there were tear lines across her face.  "I know a good cafe in Atlantis." I told her. It was the place I had planned to bring Biana for my big question. The thought was like a knife in my chest and a tear crept down my cheek. "Ok, sounds good, but I'll only tell you what's going on with me, if you tell me what's going on with you." She said as she used her pinky to wipe the tear off my cheek. I reluctantly nodded and we left Everglen.
