The restaurant was a small but cosy place , specialising in Italian food. It smelt and looked absolutely amazing , not to mention it was almost full to the brim .
Harvey and William waved us over and I couldn't help but feel nervous as we made our way over to the table .
I knew they were going to want to know about Tyr and I had no idea what I was going to say . Our situation was far from normal , it was practically unheard of and it was embarrassing. How could I admit to them that he was my mate but he didn't want me and he had only shown up because he didn't want anyone else to have me either .
"You okay ?" Zoey murmured, squeezing my hand just before we got to the table .
"Yeah" I lied , unable to keep the shakiness out of my voice .
My eyes flickered to Williams who eyes didn't leave my own and I couldn't help but appreciate how good looking he was . His tan skin , shaggy blonde hair and large piercing blue eyes gave him a boyish charm , the complete opposite of Tyr who looked like he was a villain .
"This restaurant looks great" I blurted out after a stifling awkward silence .
William quirked a brow.
"Is that really what you want to talk about ? How great the restaurant was? Who was that guy ? He looked like he wanted to eat us alive . What type of creature was he ? He seemed incredibly powerful too" Harvey asked , his tone animated as he shifted forward in anticipation.
"He's my friend" I muttered , avoiding his eye as i picked up my menu .
"Friend ?" William echoed .
"Yes , friend"
"I-"
"What is this ? The Spanish inquisition ? She said it's her friend so he's her friend. Let's just order our food and move on" Zoey interrupted , her tone leaving no room for argument .
"Fine" Harvey rolled his eyes " What are you guys thinking of ordering ?"
The rest of the night passed by uneventfully with most of the time spent with Zoey and Harvey flirting whilst William and I barely spoke to each other. I couldn't gauge what William was thinking but it was clear as day that he didn't buy my excuse of Tyr and I being friends .
