A bicker argument ensues with you and your friend. Your friend was a coward, that's what they were. Too scared to take risks so you had to do all the work. As you finished up your response to them, their rebuttal was the straw that camel's back.
"I WISH WE NEVER LOOKED FOR YOUR MOM OR YOUR DAD. BECAUSE THEY ARE DEAD AND GONE AND WE WERE NEVER GOING TO FIND THEM"
"WHAT DID YOU JUST FUCKING SAY TO ME?"
"And I'm sorry that we have to live like this. I never planned for it to go this way, but if you even dare to go into that basement... you'd be joining them."
It was overwhelming to have to be reminded of that, by your own "friend" too. It was salt to the wound. Your hands gripped onto the walkie talkie, thoughts running in your head. Before you could even properly think to say something, words came running out your mouth."WELL THEN JUST FUCKING LEAVE THEN. LEAVE! GET OUT OF HERE, NOW!"
The sound of silence wasn't as satisfying as you would think it is. You could hear the van outside leave, but good riddance anyways, right?

Right?
