The red headed boy awoke, rubbing his eyes and stretching. He squeezed each of his hands, feeling their temperature while yawning.
As he scratched his head, still half asleep, he noticed his brother was laying beside him.
Then, Kyle remembered. Ike came into his room last night because of a nightmare, or something. This was not a surprise to him by any means, his younger brother was always having terrible, vivid, dreams.
He picked up his phone, the screen showing:
Friday, April 21st, 6:20 AM
Kyle ran his fingers through his red, curly hair, before slipping his feet into his slippers. He looked into the mirror, close to his bed. He had a bit of feathers in his hair from his pillow, that wasn't half as it used to be, well, considering it was used almost his whole life.
He then went over to his dresser, pulling out a shirt and jeans, and sliding both of them on.
After getting all of his things together, he went downstairs to see his mom waiting for him. "Good morning, bubbale!" He heard her say with a big smile on her face. "Hi, mom." He replied, scratching at his arms.
"I packed you a sandwich and some juice, just how you like!" She said, before Kyle looked back at her. "That's sweet, mom, but I can pack my own." He smiled sweetly, looking behind him at his mom. "Oh, don't be stubborn!" She replied, smiling, but rolling her eyes. "Yeah, whatever. I gotta go. Bye, mom!" Kyle said as he grabbed his lunch and stuffed it into his bag. He heard half of the, "Okay, bubbale. Be safe!" Before he shut the door.
He ran down the driveway to get to the bus stop, looking around for any traffic as he did so. The bus was right on time, stopping for all of the kids who also lived on his street. Kyle got up onto the steps leading to the bus, and looked around for somewhere to sit.
"Hey, man! Saved you a seat!" He suddenly heard a voice come from the back. As he scanned the crowd of kids his age. He finally saw the tall brunet, who wasn't that much, but he sure was an eye catcher. Kyle was lost in his thoughts, before he finally flashed back to reality. "U- Uh, yeah." He mumbled, knowing the other kids were waiting behind him, when he looked like an absolute idiot.
"Dude, what was that?" The brunet chuckled, looking up at his friend. "N- Nothing. I'm good, Stan." Kyle replied, smiling softly. Stan raised an eyebrow, before nodding. "You wanna spend the night at my house tonight? We don't have much, so we're gonna have to go to the store." Kyle heard him ask, probably expecting a quick answer.
Well, he did reply. Just after staring at the raven haired boy a bit more. ''Dammit. What's going on with me today?'' Kyle thought, before finally saying something. "Y- Yeah, dude. Sure." Stan looked over him again. "You sure you're okay?" He nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine."
