SIDNEY AND TATUM WENT INSIDE, AND TATUM'S MOTHER GREETED THEM.

Aurora and Dewey stayed in the car, having been talking about random stuff since they left the station. His hand rested on her thigh the entire ride and a little tint of red appeared on the woman's cheeks but it was nothing out of the ordinary for either of them.

"Care for a walk?"

He acted poshly, a small laugh on her lips as he acted posh and all. The door opened on his side, shutting loudly. He opened her side door, gracefully helping her out, and shut her door in the process.

"Oh, of course, dear sir."

they both laughed, their arms linking as they began the journey of walking. The night was soft, and the moon lit the dark sky. It was quiet for the both of them, and they enjoyed it. the crunching sound of the leaves filled the silence between them which wasn't uncomfortable, Aurora exuding a soft smile at the ground. her head leaned on his shoulder, a soft hum erupted from Dewey as he leaned his head on her own. It was a comforting place for Aurora, plus it felt right to her. She was meant to be there, and he was meant to be resting on her own head, simply because ... they fit like puzzle pieces together.

"Hey, 'Rora..."

He shifted a little, and Aurora's head lifted as she fully faced him. Their hands connected almost immediately, the woman looking sincerely at him. She sought an answer but did not know the question.

"What is it?"

Her eyes grew curious at the deputy, his head tilting at the beauty of the woman. He leaned in, Aurora's eyes blinking close. the realization struck her, he wanted to kiss her. Of course, she allowed it to happen, it was dewey and she needed confirmation from him that he liked her. She liked Dewey! Who wouldn't like Dewey? They inched closer, a light appearing from The Riley's front porch. his eyes quickly jumped to the front porch before closing and nearly kissing the woman before him.

"Dewey, Aurora! Mom wants you two to head inside, it's cold!"

Aurora laughed softly, a soft blush appearing across her pale cheeks as she leaned her head on his shoulder. His arms wrapped around her waist very briefly, leaning his head on hers.

"we'll be in soon, Tatum."

Tatum nodded and went inside. His head lifted up, staring down at the sudden gaze of Aurora. No words were uttered between them, only the night sounds filled the silence between the two adults. She nodded ever so slightly, answering the question that had yet to come out of Dewey. He smiled softly, gently pressing his lips to her own.

They had never kissed before. they slow-danced with each other, met each other's parents, and even stayed over at each other's house when they were younger. They were roommates and often found themselves accidentally falling asleep on each other in the morning, but never once realized that the other fell for one another.
