*Will's POV*

Too much
Everything was too much. The music was too loud, the number of people dancing in the gymnasium was suffocating and the flashing lights were making me blind. If i could've stayed home to scroll on my phone all night and breakdown about how pathetic my love life is i would've, but of course because of the overly annoying best friends that i have, Cecil and Lou Ellen, i was forced to come and get out of my way too comfortable bed. Last year homecoming dance was disappointing, the gym's ceiling was leaking and in the middle of it the lights crashed. At least that year i had a date but it was Lae, the cheer team leader or also known as 'reborn Regina George'. She was really pretty don't blame me, light brown hair and green eyes but gosh she confirmed all thoughts i had about my sexuality.

"Come on Will for gods sake do you even know how to enjoy yourself anymore?" Lou exclaimed almost yelling over all of the noise the music was making.

"Yeah man, there's a reason we dragged you here if it wasn't for you to complain like that we would've left you in your room crying you know" Cecil immediately replied while giving me a slight punch on the arm.

I would be lying if i said i didn't know these two had make out in the backseat of my car while i was putting gas.

"Well it's not my fault y'all can't get over the fact that homecoming dances are even more boring than when we had to play bingo with your grandmother" I remarked with boredom in my voice ignoring completely their huge gasps.

"Oh my gosh William we promised to never talk about that again, why don't you just go next to the stage and maybe you'll get lucky and end up with some girls number" Lou Ellen still in shock said knowing damn well the only number on my phone i would end the night with was 8-11 because her or Cecil got food poisoning somehow.

"Alright and go get some gentle lady to bring home son we love you very much" he announced like a proud father, putting his arm over Lou's shoulder.

As he said that my eyes turned to the band playing on the crappy stage where we got way too many speech from the principal. "Tartarus Failures?" I quietly mumbled wondering what it meant but decided not to think too much of it. I was examining the way how the drummer was hitting the drums, i think her name was Thalia and we had biology class together as my gaze stopped to the bassist. His pitch black hair were messy and his eyes had smudged eyeliner under them. I couldn't stop starring at him, the way his hands were moving along his bass, how his pale skin was basically glowing from the sight of the lights and the voice of him singing flooding my ears. I was hypnotized by how hot he was until i realized it was Nico Di Angelo, the quiet Alt kid in some of my classes who i never really cared about but everyone knew who he was because of how many time he got kicked out of class and suspended.

I was still spaced out as i felt a hand pat my back, i shook my thoughts away as i turned around seeing Cecil glaring at me with a concerned look. "You good man? You've been zoning out for like 5 minutes nothing could've made you move." I tried to process his words but my mind was still thinking about Nico, how he looked so different from in class like a totally other person. "Me? Oh uh yeah i guess mhm sorry" he raised his left eyebrow knowing there was something but not questioning it.

After a couple of minutes of random conversations with him, Lou Ellen appeared from behind Cecil her hair in a mess putting her phone straight in my face as an attempt to show me the hour.

"It's getting kinda late wanna head home? I can't spend 20 more minutes here i feel like my head is gonna explode" she said.
"Yeah and besides we could go watch a movie at mine? My parents are staying at a hotel for their wedding anniversary" Cecil added.

I gave a last peek to the raven haired boy as i focused my eyes on my best friends again "Yeah i promised my mom i would be back before the twins went to bed. You guys head to the car I'll be right back." I replied throwing the keys in Lou's hands and started walking towards Nico without even realizing it until i found myself staring at him while he was putting his stuff in their cases.

After about 20 seconds he looked at me also realizing i was staring at him. "Mhm??" It took me a couple of seconds to understand he was talking to me, i didn't even know why I came up here and what i was supposed to say.

"Oh you guys were great, you're really good honestly haha"
I said scratching my neck from the embarrassment. He laughs slightly looking at the ground.

"Damn thanks man, we're playing at a pub if you want Saturday night?" I felt the heat rise in my cheeks.

"Oh yeah that sounds fun I'll try my best to be there!" I told him trying to maintain the urge to scream from how much i was blushing but also because of how awkward i was.

"Okay nice. Here's my number by the way I'll text you the informations and i can try to get you in for free" he replied putting a folded piece of paper he had in his pocket. I guess he was expecting that to happen.

"Wow thanks guess I'll see you Saturday then bye" i responded winking to him and immediately hurrying to my car where my friends were waiting.

"Took you long enough Solace" Lou stated as i closed my door.

"Oh yeah sorry i was getting some guy number you know the usual stuff" i replied to her with a joking tone.

"WHAT??" the both of them yelled as i started the car and begin the pull out from the school parking lot.

"You know i always knew you weren't straight" the boy remarked

"Probably because he came out to you hundreds of time dumbass" the other teenager said hitting the back of his head. The ride to Cecil's house was short and mainly consisting of Lou singing loudly random songs that were playing on the radio.

"You coming in too? We're probably gonna watch 10 things i hate about you or something like that"
Cecil said as i drove into his entryway.

"Yeah no thanks I'll leave you guys to it i miss my bed too much but you guys have fun!" I replied giving them a warm smile as they came out of my car walking to his front door. When they got in i started my beat up car again and drove back to my home listening to cage the elephant.

First thing i did when I got home was rush into my room to take out the paper Nico gave me.
I began typing his number in wondering about what i should text him for about 10 minutes.

Of course it's no problem you know but I'm getting kinda tired so I'll text you tmrw morning alr? Sleep well;)

After literally 0.2 seconds he answered, i hated myself for being so awkward over text but i was so happy i felt like those teenage girls in movies so i ignored it. I texted him goodnight and begin stalking his Instagram.

Most of his pictures were with his band friends that i recognized being Leo, Thalia and Reyna, all people from my grade i never really talked to. When i finally found a picture of him alone, it was a mirror photo taken with a disposable camera. His hair was messy as always and he hid his smile with the camera but the way his brown eyes looked still gave it emotions. After 20 minutes of looking at his profile i finally decided to go to sleep thinking about how maybe it wasn't that bad of a night.
