TWO

I woke up hearing my phone ring, I reached for the phone on the nightstand without getting up and looked to see 12 missed calls from mom.
"Shit I forgot to call her yesterday". I called her back.

"Hey Amma"
"Why didn't you call yesterday? Are you okay?" She sound tensed. "Amma, I'm alright, don't worry about me. I told you Germany is one of the safest country". She is a little paranoid. She told me many times not to go to another country for studies but I insisted. It was suffocating there because of Rony's memories. Rony is my mother's younger brother. He was like a brother to me but he is no more. He met with an accident few months back.
After talking a little longer I told her that will not be able to call her today. She is not a big fan of parties neither do I. But she will not allow me if I tell her. So I say that I have some assignments to do and some freinds will come over and she bought it. Then we hung up.

I went to check for Leah but she was no where to be found. I called her phone but it rings from her room. But then she came from outside a little tensed.
"Where were you?"
"Uh..umm..I was outside g-g-getting some fresh air"
"Umm okay"  she was breathing very heavily so I understood she was coming after making out with Alan. I have seen them making out right by the door once when i went out to give the waste away. I wiped out the thought and went to the kitchen to make coffee.

I was drinking the cofee and skimming through my phone when the door bell rang. I hesitantly stood up and went to check the door.  I opened it to see...no one. I looked confusingly thinking it might be the kids playing and then noticed a small box infront of the door.
I took it, it had a letter under it and took inside to see Leah coming out of her room.
"Are you okay? you looked flushed earlier"
She smiled shyly, her head denying it "I'm good"

I took the letter to read and open it and it said:

To my beautiful Sehra,
I'll make sure you have a great day ahead.
Please wear this when you come to the party.

I was confused. I looked at Leah she had no reaction. "What will be in the box?" "I don't know" I replied.

We took the box, it had a brown covering and opened it. It had a chain with a symbol of a beautiful flower.

"It's beautiful but it must be Brian's idea"
Lead nodded and then she smirked " Maybe you have a secret admirer" she laughed.
"Oh come on and go get ready to buy grocery "
She whined and went while I looked at the chain in my hand.

It was evening and we were getting ready for party. I wore a top and jeans and minimal make up as I don't have or want anybody to look at me. But Leah looked beautiful in her blue bodycon dress. I didn't wanted to wear the necklace that Brian brought me so I didn't.
"Alan would fall head over heels for you all over again" I complimented. She smiled shyly and we went for the party. I rented a car when I first came here and we ride that to the party with her.

We went inside and we saw Alan with his freinds so Leah went with him and I went near the bar and saw people dancing.
"What would you like to have mam?" it was the bartender.  "I don't want anything" I smiled. "Why?" he looked at me waiting for an answer. "I have to drive". He nodded and went inside. I sat there for a few minutes when I saw Brian coming towards me with a flirty smile. "Wow. You look gorgeous in whatever you wear" "Thankyou I guess"
"I thought you said you wouldn't come to the party?"
"I said I wouldn't like to come to the party with you" He put both his hands up in surrender and went after winking at me.

I looked around and couldn't find Leah anywhere. When I was planning to go outside my phone buzzed with a message sound. I took it out to see the sender was unknown. The message said:

unknown : I thought you would wear that chain for me but I guess I'm wrong.

I looked around to find Brian and he was flirting with the red head at the college but he don't have his phone at his hand. I looked around to find nobody staring at me or using phone, most of them were drinking and dancing.
I texted back:

me : Who is this?
After sometime my phone buzzed with a notification.
unknown : You will know soon
me : Where did you get my number ?
unknown : I have my ways love
me : Tell me what you want or I'm gonna block this number
unknown : I want you

That's it. I blocked the number.
It was getting late. My watch shows 10.45 and  when walked through I saw many boys looking and staring at me. I called Leah's phone but she didn't pick up.
I went to washroom to wash up and I saw Leah crying in the corner. I ran towards her and kneeled before her.

"What happened?"
She was crying so hard.
"H-he ...I s-s-saw him kissing another girl"

I knew it. I knew he was a fraud and I have told her that but she didn't budge. I didn't want her to feel bad so I told her that we could go home and we left from there.

She was crying so hard. I helped her go to sleep and then went to take my phone . It showed 12.48. Then I saw the message.
