Hello :), this is the start of my new book, 'But you love me'.
Enjoy xx

Adrienne's POV:

I was walking home, in the dark. I don't love the dark, in fact I hate it. Passionately.

Today was my eighteenth. Well yesterday. I'm not sure what time it was, but the club kicks you out after 3 am, and I've been walking for twenty minutes, plus it took like five to get me out, and I'm cold, and probably babbling.

Don't get me wrong, I have friends. Amelie and Zara are closest to me. Then there's Max, but I don't like him that much, he's rude, and I just.. yeah.

Anyways. I left alone. They asked me to join them, but I didn't want them to see me throw up when I got home. Well Amelie and Zara I didn't mind. Max though..

Here we go again. I'm a chatterbox, well to my close friends.

To other people I'm just really shy.

'A pretty girl like you shouldn't be walking out here alone. Not safe.' A low voice tugged me out of my daydream, well night dream. Dream then I guess. But I was conscious. So barely.

Anyways, I was pissed.

'No shit.' I slurred, speeding up.

'Just an observation. Wow, you've really been at it.' He mused, supporting me with his arm.

I must admit, he had some pretty nice arms.

'Just the usual.' I lied. This was my first time getting properly drunk, and I had no clue how to go about it.

'Yeah okay. How old are you again miss?'

'Twenty-one.' I answered confidently. When he didn't reply, I glanced up at him sideways.

He was grinning from ear to ear.

'Liar.'

'Fuck off.' I mumbled, lunging away from him.

'Woah steady.' He laughed, holding me up.

I laughed with him, tumbling on to him.

'How old are you really?'

'Eighteen. Today.' I added with a grin.

'Congrats. Don't you mean yesterday? Or were you planning on spending your birthday with a pounding headache?'

'No. Yesterday. I think. What's the time?'

'Like four in the morning.'

I giggled, as he opened the door of his car. It was a nice car, black, with tainted windows.

'What a gentleman. Are you going to kidnap me?' I wondered aloud.

'Yea, hop in.' He chuckled.

I got in, and made myself comfortable. It wasn't hard, the car was spacious.

I passed out within the next thirty seconds, with the radio blasting some crappy country music.

When I woke up, I couldn't remember anything.

My head seemed to be housing some kind of war. Needless to say, it ached.

I yawned, and stretched in bed. A nice comfy bed. I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep, but my head was hurting too much.

Finally I gave up. I sat up, and rubbed my eyes. Then I looked more closely at the room.

It was beautiful. Furnished with indigo leather chairs and a carpet, with matching covers and a plentiful bookcase.

I hopped out of bed, and grabbed the first slippers I saw. Luckily, they were my size.

I peeked out of the window. I knew this street. It was only two blocks away from my apartment.

My stomach rumbled and I lost interest in the scenery.

I wandered out of my room, and went cautiously downstairs. There was no one, but there was a note left on the fridge.

'I'll be back in half an hour.
Raelyn'

Raelyn must be the guy who picked me up.

I made my way back upstairs and took a trip to the bathroom. I looked like absolute crap.

I quickly fixed that, and had a shower. Then I realised I had nothing to wear except my dress, so I decided to go exploring.

I found an oversized t-shirt with Star Wars prints, and some shorts. I pulled them on, and went back downstairs.

I settled down with some breakfast, and texted my friends. A couple of minutes later, I heard keys in the door.

'You're in my shirt.'

'You're not Raeyln.'

'Excuse me?' The woman leaning on the kitchen island asked.

She was gorgeous, with full red lips, and chiseled cheekbones. She also had some other nice assets, but I forced myself not to look at those.

'Matt wasn't lying. You're hot.' She mused, before tossing her keys on the counter and going upstairs.

'Do you want me out?' I asked sadly.

'Nope!' She yelled back.

'Really!'

'No. I want my shirt back.' She called.

'Bitch.' I muttered, before grabbing her shirt and pulling it off.

She came back in right at that moment and gaped at me, standing in my sports bra.

'I didn't mea'-

'Here.' I glared at her, tossing her the shirt. 'Tell your nicer than you boyfriend I said hi.'

'Not my boyfriend.' She was still eyeing me up and down.

'Who then.' I asked, trying to not sound hopeful.

'Nicer than me brother. Bye Adrienne.'

'How'-

She opened the door and pushed me out. Rude.
