Welcome to Paris! :)

As the setting is very important to me, many places in For Centuries correspond to real locations in Paris. I've lived in Paris for 13 years, and this city is very dear to my heart. So I thought you may like to know a little more about the city and the places which inspired me.

First stop, 5th and 6th districts (Odéon, Latin Quarter)

This is Elise's area, where she lives and has her habits.

She lives between Odéon and The Seine, in a building near Rue Des Grands Augustins, that looks like this one.

In episode 1.9, she watches The Shop Around The Corner, in a movie theater rue Champollion. This street in the Latin Quarter near the Sorbonne is very famous for its movie theaters showing art films and old movies all year long. Paris is really a cinema city. There is such a variety of movies shown every day, more than in any other city I've been to in the world. The movie theater I was thinking of while writing episode 1.9 is called La Filmothèque du Quartier Latin. They pretty much have a Lubitsch, a Capra, or a Hitchcock retrospective at all times.

There are also many bookshops in this area, especially as it is near Sorbonne University

It is also in this area that the hotel in episode 2.2 is, rue Christine. I like Christine Street because there is a famous movie theater on this street, which is just in front of the luxury hotel that inspired the one in For Centuries, even if it doesn't look the same.

All this area is my favorite in Paris. It's where I feel the most at home and that is why I chose it for Elise. Here are some others pictures of the neighborhood.
