The bright white lights of the emergency room were not something Rory had been expecting to see when she left the house to go to Molly's earlier that night, but it's where she ended up.

Rory didn't have it in her to argue with her dad over going to the hospital. She was too worn out from the Molly's incident and what occurred afterwards so she knew that wasn't a fight that she'd have any chance of winning. So, Rory soon found herself sitting in a trauma bay in the middle of Chicago Med, with blood smeared down her face and staining what had been her favourite sweater.

"Miss Madej, I didn't expect to see you here on your day off." Dr Rhodes said as he entered the bay, looking down at an empty chart in his hands that would soon be filled with Rory's details. "What seems to be the problem?"

"She was attacked." Rory's dad, Scott, who'd frantically shown up at the hospital after getting a call from his husband telling him what happened, replied, making Dr Rhodes look up.

"Attacked? Rory, what happened?" He asked, concerned as he tossed the chart aside and grabbed a pair of gloves.

"It's nothing. I'm fine, really." Rory protested, hating feeling like she was the centre of attention.

"It's not nothing, Aurora." Nick said seriously, his arms crossed as he stood next to the bed, looking like a bouncer outside of a nightclub. "You were almost assaulted."

"But I wasn't." Rory whispered, avoiding the sympathetic look Dr Rhodes was giving her as he examined her head wound.

"Well thankfully you won't need stitches." He said with a clear of his throat, gently lifting Rory's chin up to look at her lip. "Do you feel dizzy at all? Or nauseous?"

"No." Rory replied quietly, shaking her head a little and feeling like she just wanted to go home, curl up in bed and cry until she couldn't anymore.

"Okay, good." Dr Rhodes said softly, noticing the way Rory's eyes were watering and how she was avoiding looking at him.

Dr Rhodes had known Rory from working in the ER, given that she'd wheel multiple patients in every time she was on shift, and he'd grown fond of the young girl. The friendly smile she always had for those in the hospital meant she was quite well liked around Chicago Med, so it wasn't all that surprising when he left the bay after cleaning Rory up to find a few of his coworkers hovering anxiously outside.

"Is she okay?" Maggie asked, worried after having seen Rory come in but been unable to check on her as she was busy helping Dr Manning with a patient.

"She's fine." Dr Rhodes replied, hearing a communal sigh of relief from those waiting eagerly on the update. "A few cuts and bruises but she's mainly in shock."

"What happened?" Dr Halstead asked, his arms folded across his burgundy scrubs.

"Well I don't know all the details, she's pretty quiet but her dad said something about an assault, I'm not too sure." Dr Rhodes explained, must to the dismay of his fellow doctors and nurses.

"I'll give Jay a call, see if he can send someone down to talk to her." Dr Halstead said softly, about to pull out his phone when the emergency room doors slid open and his brother walked in, alongside fellow detective, Kevin Atwater. "Hey, I was just about to call you."

"Rory?" Jay questioned, although the answer to that question was obvious given the vast amount of medical personnel hovering outside the bay door. "Yeah, her dad already called asking for Erin, but she's out of town so Voight sent us instead... How is she?"

"Physically she's fine, a few minor cuts and some bruises but it doesn't seem like she's up for talking." Dr Rhodes explained, a small sigh leaving his lips. "I can tell by the look in her eyes that she just wants to go home."
