All I could hear was banging on the wall while cleaning the dinner table. "Valery! Valery! Come 

quick! They've just posted who will be the maid in waiting for the royal family." Julia

said while standing in the doorway connecting the kitchen to the dinner table.

"Julia, why would I want to know- woah hold on, stop dragging me Julia." I said, whining.

"No, you have to see this."

"I have no intention to see something that won't benefit me in any way." Instead of responding

Julia ran to the palace hall while dragging me, in a somewhat comfortable position.

I feel like this was the only time I could relax, but before long she stopped and let go of me,

while dusting off dirt in her maid's dress.

"Look."

I looked through the list and I saw my name in the paper Valery for Prince Nathan's lady in

waiting. I stumbled back not knowing that the two princes were walking behind me.

"Watch it! You servant!" Prince Nathan says practically yelling. "Wow. Someone is in a bad

mood." I think to myself snickering.

"Brother Nathan, are you ok?"

" Yes I am fine brother Liam, but this peasant had to bump into me!"

"I am very sorry for his behavior." Prince Liam bows apologetically.

"Don't worry it's my fault." I did a curtsy and bowed my head. I can't believe I bumped into

Prince Nathan. Gosh why does life treat me this way? What have I done to deserve this, now I

could be fired for my actions. I say to myself resisting the urge to bite my nails.

"Well then now that I have your name I shall have a word with the king and fire you!"

" Brother Nathan, take it easy! Let's just go, a servant like her doesn't concern us."

"Fine let's go," I watched them both leave, and I just stood there doing nothing. I should have put

him in his place for disrespecting his elder. I can't believe he is the crown prince. He is so rude

unlike his younger brother Liam. He's so kind and friendly that he wouldn't do anything to cause

a scene. Sometimes I wish he was the crown prince. "Wait! No!I shouldn't be thinking about

this. Instead, I should go back to work."

" Goodbye Valery."

"Goodbye, Emily!"

Finally the day is over! I close the door and start walking to the gates. ¨Ha.. ha...ha...ha!¨ Why

is there someone panting? Or worse who is here no one is working in these late night hours. My

face grew pale and I suddenly felt my body moving toward the noise as I approached closer. I hid

behind a tree to see who was there and I saw the princes and the King practicing martial arts!?!

But this is late! They needed to rest, and I needed to go too. However, all I could think about was

the fight and how the king is easily beating prince Nathan while Prince Liam is calmly standing

but I could see that he was worried for his brother.

"You need to work harder," the king said in a harsh tone, then he left. After seeing the king's

figure out of my sight I also left. While waiting for a wagon, I couldn't stop myself from

thinking about all the events that happened today. "Neigh, Neigh!" The horse snatched me from

my thoughts and the footman said "Miss you need a ride?"

"Yes, I do, Sir."

"Where to miss."

" To the farm side sir."

" Hop on I'll get you there as fast as the wind. "

I just stared into the passing houses with few people walking to their homes. After 20 minutes

the city lights and people walking around quickly turned into trees then after a few more minutes

all I could see were people doing shady business. Then there was my stop a small house that

looked like a broken-down house but that could not be further from the truth.

"This is my stop sir."

"It will be 2 dollars."

"Thank you."

"Oh, Excuse me, sir, I was wondering if you can pick me up from here to the city in the morning at 

4:50?"

" No. I'm Sorry, my wagon shift starts at 5 and comes back at 9, but I'll tell you what a wagon

comes here at 4:30 headed for the city. It returns back here at 8 by the same stop, you waited, and

don't be late... he doesn't wait for anyone. "The footman got ready to leave but then said," I

almost forgot he meets at the village sign."

" Ok thank you very much!" I watched him leave making sure he won't do anything suspicious

then looked everywhere making sure no one was looking and stepped inside my home.

" I am back!" I muttered to myself knowing that Levi and the others were asleep. I went to the

kitchen got something to eat, took a shower and went to my shared room with Juila, tucked

myself into bed and looked at the ceiling for who knows how long just trying to go to bed. But

instead of going to bed, all I could think about was everything that happened.
