I couldn't believe that little trick could actually do something like that after everything I did for her. All the days I spent at work, the extra hours I put in just to keep Mariah in school, food on the table, and clothes on her back just so she could stab me in mine.

She was always an ungrateful child and nothing was enough for her. Mariah always wanted and needed more, that girl was always begging me for something else.

"I need some new school supplies Mommy"

"Mommy I need some money so I can get a snack"

"Mommy can you make dinner for me"

"I need some food for breakfast because I didn't eat dinner Ma"

I was hoping Mariah would have ran away by now but she continued to stay with me and irritate my soul.

Mariah reminded me so much of her no good father who left me because he claims that "I was too controlling" and he left while I was at work the next day. Mariah informed me that he visited her while she was at school.

The way she acted and spoke to me when he left reminded me more of him and each day and as she grew it just got worse that's reason why I act how I do towards her.

"Our mom thinks we should go visit her Kiah"Nauji said as she walked into the kitchen where we sat making breakfast.

"Why?" Kiah asked.

"I don't know but we have to go. Momma said it was important so we need to go and visit her. Who knows she might be dying....Again."

"What do you mean 'Again'?" I questioned as I drunk my juice.

"Well last time we went to visit Momma, she said it was urgent. So we left school and dropped everything.." Kiah explained.

"So we get in the car with only like a couple of clothes. We driving and you know Atlanta is like a 10 hour drive from where we are." I nodded waiting for Nauji to continue. "So we get there and it's what? Damn near 12 in the morning and we go in."

"Here she is with her friends throwing this big party in her house. So we were like 'Ma what the hell is going on?' She talking about this is her going away party. So we take her to her next appointment...."

"Only to find out she ain't even sick like Really! That night we came back home."

"Wow that's messed up." I shook my head."So when do you guys leave?" I asked.

"Tomorrow morning. You can come too Riah. We're not going to leave you here by your lonesome." Nauji told me.

I sighed, "I mean I guess but I don't want to be in the way. Like what if she is actually sick this time, I don't want to get in the way of y'all."

"Don't worry about if she is sick or not. Just worry about what you are going to pack. Oh, also when you are packing make sure you pack a couple of jackets, Atlanta's weather acts funny so make sure you are prepared." I nodded eating some eggs.

I'm going to Atlanta.
