Outside the Seville's residence, the sun is playing hide-and-seek. The wind is blowing gently making some of the leaves fall on the grassy ground as birds are chasing playfully on the air. These are what Jeanette can see outside the fixed window as she listened quietly to a solemn song by her purple earphone, sitting and feels the sun filling up the room again.
She turned her head to her leet side and watched the person with black frames dozing just a few centimeters away from her. He was reading the last time she saw him but now he had put his head comfortably on the headboard of a cream-colored sofa. He looked peaceful and cute sleeping there making her blush and made her heart lit up. He was her bestfriend,Simon. The boy she had developed feelings secretly for many years.
Well, she knows that they both shared the same feelings for each other but are just afraid to confess it- fearing that one day their friendship might lost all of a sudden. She is not that blind. Jeanette wishes to herself that they would just give up the fear but its easy said than done! So she keeps the feelings inside her hoping for the right timing and the courage to tell him.
Simon jerked on his dreams and moaned making the book dropped on the floor. Jeanette smiled sweetly at herself and picked the book quietly but a piece of paper hung on the edge oe the book. Her brows furrowed for it was far than a bookmark so she decided to get it. It was a letter from Lisa, Simon's past girlfriend. Yes. Simon did had a girlfriend and she was more beautiful than Jeanette. Well, that is how she remarked and put her self down to others. But they broke up a year ago leaving Simon so devastated and afraid to have a relationship again. But what does this letter mean? She looked at her bestfriend cautiously and started to read the letter. Simon probably recieved this a week ago. So Lisa is saying sorry and taking back all what she had told to Simon during the break up? And she is asking for a second chance for their relationship? She looked at him again and told herself on not to cry. She thought that everything would be fine- the chance of turning Simon's head to notice her. She had really expected a lot and probably he is deciding for their Lisa's broken relationship to mend. It's really hard on keeping the feelings inside and she cried herself at night during the relationship had started;then waking up in the morning pretending and ignoring her puffy eyes. The pain she feels inside is helpless-trapped.
Smiling bitterly, she put the letter back on the book and distanced herself away from him giving a big gap between them. She put the book at the center and watched her clenched hands on her lap. So her expectations vanished like a puffed bubble leaving her hanging in the moment. She wants to tell him how she feels now . She knew its the best way she could do eventhough he is asleep.
She gathered all her courage and somehow said,"I-I love you. I wish you could know how much I really do." and she laughed, holding back the tears almost choking.
Her forced laugh disturbed the sleeping boy. He sat quickly when he noticed that he was asleep! He thought she laughed at him because of how he look. "Uhm, uh, did I drooled?" his voice deep and masculine.
Jeanette shook her head and manage to laugh again,"I didnt know you look horrible when you sleep!"
"Oh," was all that he could say and scratched his neck in embarassment and suddenly remembered,"Hey. Where are the others? Have they already arrive?" He was talking about his brothers and Jeanette's sisters who all said that they are coming after them to order a pizza but are still not in the room.
She gazed outside the glassed window."Not yet." The six of them planned to compose a song for their up-coming tribute album inside the music room.
Simon looked at his royal blue wristwatch,"They are late! How could they?" he stood impatiently and looked down at her, "Come on,Jeanette, let's go get them."
She got up and he was leading the way but before they could open the door,Simon stopped and remembered something. Jeanette was behind him and she could measure how taller he is than her. Simon stood close to her and look at her. This made her uncomfortable and she's having a breathing trouble. She's afraid of what he'll see right now or... Did Simon just heard her confessing there? Her eyes mentally got big. Oh what a klutz she is!
It couldn't be!
"Have you seen the book?" he asked.
Assuming much,ey?
"Oh,"she sighed in relief,"The book? Oh yes. You accidentally dropped it when you jerked so I decided to pick it up." she said casually.
This time, its Simon's turn to wide his eyes and went back to the couch. The book was lying there. Jeannette strode near him. He scanned for the paper and found it.
"I was curious so I read it." she said then added with a smile,"So Lisa's asking for a second chance.eh?" she punced him playfully on the shoulder but she wishes she had hit him hard on the head to make him feel how hurt she is. An upper cut could help. "Have you already decided for it?"
Simon didnt replied but just looked at her eyes, tongue tied. His silence speaks. Jeanette smiled for the best and tapped his shoulder,"It will be good for the best of you." Not sure of her comment. She turned her back to him and muttered,"Congratulations." and started walking away from him.
Simon called her name but she drowned her thoughts by the song still playing on her earphone.
When Jeanette opened the door, she found out that Alvin,Theodore,Brittany, and Eleonor were there. She frowned. Perhaps the four planned on not going inside to eavesdrop instead. They knew the status of the two.
Eleonor tried to comfort her but she held out her hand in the air,"Its alright. I an okay. Just leave me alone, please?"she didnt expect the tone of her voice to rise and she walked and then faster until she ran inside her bedroom.
She didnt mind catching her breath but she feels something inside her heart. Something crushing her heart that made her tears fell. She dropped on her bed and covered her face on her soft pillow and cried. The song still playing on her mind.
