First, some popular (and most important) headcanons/details:
- Liu is the older brother.
I don't know. I've always liked the idea of Liu being a protective older brother to Jeff. Plus, there's a whole debate within the fandom of who's the older brother, so I figured I should state this first.
- Smile Dog is Jeff's pet.
This is probably a fandom-wide agreement, similar to how the entire fandom has agreed that Jeff is emo. I don't think I have much to explain here.
- Liu did end up forgiving Jeff.
I've always loved the idea of Liu forgiving Jeff. I know it's quite a controversial idea within the creepypasta fandom, however I'd like to think they act as if nothing changed from when they were younger (minus another detail that will be mentioned later). Of course, Sully isn't too happy with that and also still wants Jeff dead.
And now, the rest of the details/headcanons:
- Jeff is trans (FTM, of course).
I like to think that Liu, Ben, and (K.) Kate were the only ones that showed any support for him whatsoever and Liu bought him his first binder behind their parents' backs.
- Jeff is lightly afraid of fire.
When I say this, I don't mean to the point where it could be considered pyrophobia, but he does get a bit anxious when he's near fire. Of course, it's due to trauma.
- Jeff, Ben, and (K.) Kate all grew up together.
They saw each other as siblings and Liu was their protective older brother and father-figure because none of them had good dads, (EJ later took that father-figure role to all four of them).
- (K.) Kate went by her full first name (Katherine) until she was 13.
Ben had drowned and Jeff had moved away by that point, so when they reunited, they were confused when she was introduced as Kate.
- Jeff and Liu are bilingual, they speak English and Spanish.
Their first language was Spanish, (they're both Mexican), but they mostly speak English. They mostly only speak Spanish when they're upset, angry, or get too invested in a conversation. They also comfort each other in Spanish, as well as talk about certain topics, because the others (besides K. Kate, who's canonically half-Hispanic) don't understand it.
- Liu was extremely overprotective, but it died down a bit as years went by.
He'll still fight someone if they hurt Jeff though.
- Jeff and Liu's parents were... not the best people.
They were abusive and manipulative, to say the least. Liu basically raised Jeff on his own because their parents didn't care. They also weren't their biological parents. Their "father" also did some... things to Jeff, on multiple occasions. Things I'm not too comfortable talking about, but they did happen in the AU. I'll let you take that information how you want to.
- Liu was actually an honors student.
He wasn't necessarily gifted, though. He overworked himself to that point, only wanting his parents approval, (which, by the way, he sadly never received).
- Jeff and (K.) Kate constantly make fun of each other.
It's lightheartedly, and they know not to take it too far.
- (K.) Kate makes fun of Toby constantly.
They argue a lot too. Jeff laughs because Toby can't understand Kate most of the time, (she speaks in Spanish when upset or angry, similar to Jeff and Liu).
- (K.) Kate is extremely protective of a necklace she received from her mother.
It was a lock necklace, and it was the only thing she really had left from her mother, so can you really blame her?
- Jane is into witchcraft, and is currently learning spells.
She attempted to hex Jeff at one point, but didn't know what she was doing yet so it didn't work.
- Jeff and Liu paint each other's nails.
It's comforting to them, I guess.
- (K.) Kate was actually really athletic growing up.
Her dad was upset because she wasn't "feminine" enough. Her being athletic is helpful to her now, though.
- Jeff actually tried to tell (K.) Kate that Mark was a bad person.
She wouldn't listen to him, but she realized he was right, and that Mark was abusive, around the time her story took place, and she ended up killing him.
- Jeff has ADHD.
No comment here. Kinda self explanatory.
- Jeff likes Untitled Goose Game.
This is literally only because the goose is unhinged. That's all.
- Jeff used to burn himself with cigarettes.
This was before he was reunited with Liu. It was purely out of guilt because he thought he'd actually killed his brother. Poor guy.
- Jeff and (K.) Kate are into gambling.
It's not an addiction though... I don't think-
- Jeff collects rings.
He doesn't wear most of them, he just kinda has them for no real reason.
- (K.) Kate and Jane are pagan. Jeff is an atheist, Liu's christian, and Clockwork is relatively neutral when it comes to religion.
No comment here.
- (K.) Kate's claustrophobic.
Again, no comment here.
- (K.) Kate has a jar of her victims' blood in it.
It's what she dyes her hair with, so it makes sense (kinda).
