the begining of the end....

As I awoke, the sight of blinding white light engulfed my eyes, I sit up and take in my surroundings, a bright room, white walls and cement floors, looking around I see multiple other people, a few I recognize, co-workers, friends of friends, and....Payden and Tereva! I get up and run to them as fast as I can, still in the clothes I had on before, "Payden! Tereva!" I gasp "niomi! Whats happening? Why are we here?!" I yell, confused and worried, and a bit scared but I wasn't going to let them see that.

"Ugh....I'm not sure...can you stop yelling already amilia? You're not the ONLY confused person here jeez...." Niomi says, annoyance lacing her words, "hey she's confused and we're all worried, are you hung over or something? God...I'm not sure what's happening either, we all just randomly woke u-" payden gets cut off by a man walking into the room, he looks like he's around his forties, grey hair and a stern look on his face, he's wearing a commanders army uniform.

"Good morning everyone, I'm sure you're all confused, but I can assure you, everything will be explained very soon, I am garrison, but you shall address me as sir.hall, understood?" The man speaks.

"NO! WHAT THE ACTUAL FU-" a man yells, but gets cut off by sir.hall, "I SAID IS THAT UNDERSTOOD?!" he yells, his loud voice booming across the room.

"YES SIR!" everyone says, including me.

A while later we are taken to a big room, it looks almost like a theater, just less fancy and big, and more dark, it has a big stage at the front, the floors of it made with wood, the floors of the room, tile and the walls a dark grey, there are rows of seats, as we all sit down there are more people coming in, I'm guessing from more rooms like the one I woke up in, I take a seat next to payden, with tereva on my other side and niomi beside them, as we all start talking sir. hall walks into the stage, taking a microphone up to his thin lips, "hello everyone, you should all know me by now, I am sir. Hall, I am here to explain why you have been brought here today" he says, everyone immediately quieting down, "this may be hard for some to believe but we are here in a zombie apocalypse, you all blacked out due to a gas that polluted the air, we were able to save many, but not all, some were turned into flesh and brain eating monsters, who can infect others by attacking one of us, but leaving their brain. This is a very serious matter, and I expect the best from all of you" he says, when someone chimes in "pfft... zombies, hah! Yeah right, this isn't a children's book!" A woman says, "Luke! Roll the tape" sir hall responds, as a video starts to play behind him, multiple screams and gunfire can be heard, corpse looking people running after soldiers then getting shot showed on the video, sir hall looking absolutely unfazed at this scene playing behind him, then the video stops, " as I said, I expect the best out of you, their will be housing and food given to you, people will be sent out to gather rations for the town, clothing will be given aswell, is everyone on the same page? Or shall I line you up, one by one, and have you shit through the skull?" Sir hall says, glaring out into the crowd of people, "NO SIR" everyone shouts, eventually sir hall leaves and we are brought to houses,

me and payden ending up sharing a house, getting the upper half while tereva and niomi get the bottom, as I get settled into my new room niomi walks in, "hey...wow, it already looks like a pig sty in here... anyways, I just wanted to say that nobody is allowed in my room ok? I already told the others." Niomi says, flipping her hair from the front of her shoulder to her back, then walking out, "ok.... then?" I respond, continuing to put some stuff that soldiers were able to find of mine.

I start wondering about how this all happened, and how a gas could possibly do that to a human, the video that was displayed running through my head, reminding me of the horror without mercy, until a knock on the door snaps me out of my thoughts....
