The awakening

During the entire time Sendak was unconscious he had been dreaming about the moments leading up to his final battle with Shiro. He had been one of the greatest galran warriors in history, he shouldn't have been taken down so easily by a halfbreed, but he was and he thought he was as good as dead. Aside from him almost waking up a couple of times he'd been completely unconscious and unaware of what happened to him; he should have been dead, but fate had other plans for him. Memories of his past also haunted him; he could still hear the screams of people he'd killed long ago in his mind and he even had a few dreams of when Haxus and Hepta were with him. Thanks to (Y/n), Sendak wasn't as malnourished compared to when she found him and the sword slash across his chest was looking a little better; he had a long wait until he was fully recovered, though.

(Y/n) definitely wasn't used to taking care of another person, especially a strange galran man who she found randomly laying out in the desert, although she didn't mind since he wasn't causing any trouble. Three days passed before Sendak actually woke up, so (Y/n) made sure he got the nutrients he needed while also changing the gauze around his upper body so he wouldn't get an infection. On the day of his awakening (Y/n) was doing her job by changing his gauze, making sure to gently wipe a special disinfectant cream around the large gash that she'd stitched up after bringing him home. One moment she was wrapping gauze around him and the next she heard him let out a deep groan which startled her a little; she secured the gauze bandaging right before he opened his one remaining eye. His left eye was a golden yellow color and there was no pupil, a strange sight to the young woman who was kneeling near him whilst waiting for the male to become aware of his surroundings.

The large male was high on painkillers, so he wouldn't be fully awake and aware of his surroundings for at least a few hours. His mechanical eye started glowing a few seconds later, a sign it had turned on while he was waking up. Sendak was almost completely out of it when he woke up; he wasn't expecting to wake up again after what happened but when he did he didn't recognize his surroundings or the person kneeling next to him. He gave (Y/n) a blank stare and didn't say anything, although he was still out of it because of the drugs (Y/n) gave him so he wouldn't be in as much pain. There was something else, too; Sendak had amnesia which meant he couldn't remember who he was and the damage to the universe he'd caused during the past few thousand years.

"Are you feeling alright?" (Y/n) quietly asked Sendak after a few moments of them just staring at each other, refraining from speaking too loudly because she knew his hearing was more sensitive than a humans'.

"Where am I? Who are you?" Sendak questioned, wanting to know more about his new surroundings while unintentionally ignoring (Y/n's) question; he didn't mean to ignore her but he could hear a slight ringing sound in his ears.

"My name is (Y/n) and you're in my house. I found you laying out in the desert a few days ago. Who are you?" (Y/n) answered with a calm tone, asking him who he was since she honestly didn't know who she saved.

"I- I don't remember." Sendak responded in confusion; he could have sworn that he had a name and an identity, but during that moment he couldn't remember who he was.

"It's okay, we'll figure something out. Are you hungry or thirsty?" (Y/n) assured him prior to asking the mysterious male if he wanted anything to eat or drink yet.

"Yes." Sendak said with a simple tone right before his stomach grumbled, signaling that he was hungry; he wouldn't be able to eat much at first, but he would be able to at least eat something.

(Y/n) smiled in response before she stood up and made her way out of the room, deciding to get some lunch meat out of her refrigerator since she knew galra were fond of meat. On the way to her kitchen she wondered how the galran man in her pet care room would respond to her once he became more aware of his surroundings. He was very large and obviously a warrior, so naturally she was worried that he might try to kill her; then again, she didn't want to judge him too quickly. (Y/n) rolled up ten pieces of lunch meat and filled a cup with water before she took them back to the room Sendak was occupying, knowing not to overfeed him so he wouldn't get sick. When she returned Sendak looked at her with curiosity, clumsily flicking his ears a couple of times when he caught the scent of the (F/l/m) lunch meat.
