Hock note: Now that Captain Max is back to her (Axion) self again, let's check back on Kwin and Milo.

Kwin goggled at the naughty boy in the doorway on the third floor of Newton Hall. Bright red bubbles popped and reflated in constant motion over his face, arms, and the shirt and jeans he wore. She knew it was rude, but she couldn't stop staring.

"So, what did you do..." and then, thinking better of it, she quickly added, "in there?"

The naughty boy smiled coyly and nodded to her, "Come in, then, and I'll show you."

She followed him into a large and open room where windows filled the walls from floor to ceiling. She could see out onto the college in every direction. In one section, robots worked with objects like small black pucks while nearby several people did something in partitioned cubicles. At the center of the room, a number of people gathered around a table where the young professor spoke, most of them also with red bubbles moving across their bodies. A black cylinder stood upright on that table, kind of blurry, but wriggling as if it beckoned to her. The naughty boy brought her right up to the table and introduced her to the professor.

"This is Professor Aidan. He can show you everything."

The naughty boy was right. Professor Aidan turned out to be the best of pros. He spent a long time with her that Saturday, teaching her about the energy and the extra dimension. It was spinning protons. The black cylinder was how he generated it, and the robots were making more energy components that they put together into the cylinders. He called it the Drommel, after Emma Drommel, some other pro who had discovered it a few years ago. The naughty boy's name was Milo Skart. He stayed too, although he spent most of the time working in the cells with the robots and the black pucks. Still, he gave her some good pointers.

"Milo's my top student," Professor Aidan said.

"I'm going to do it better," she said.

"Well then, here's your chance."
