Just a little short poem...I think it's considered a poem, I wrote last year. Decided to put it up. Poems, in my opinion, aren't my specialty but at least this one isn't as horrible as the ones that I've decided to spare you of.

Anyways, V&C to tell me if Poetry and I are on good terms.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I sat there, cross legged, Indian style, as the sun descends to the west, changing the sky from orange to purple to black.

The lake reflects the night sky sending ripples with every breeze. It was a chilly night, not surprising for the city.

A small breeze blew through my hair, but that was enough to make me shiver. I stared at the lake; it was so peaceful, so natural.

It was like nothing could stop the delicate balance of nature. Around the lake, the trees lined themselves like an arena; covering them from others’ sight.

The night was filled with warm glows from the fireflies that circled the air.

The flowers release a beautiful aroma.

The grass was soft and wet from the previous rain shower.

The moon was full and alive; it cast a silvery glow, making everything shimmer with an aura.

I sat there silently, taking it all in.

It was my last night in here.

Tomorrow I would be moving to Texas.

I wanted to remember the place where I spend most of my time, my sanctuary as you would call it.

I feel safe here.

My phone rang consistently, reminding me to head home.

With a sigh, I push myself off the grass and stood up, my eyes wandering around.

I turned my back on the beautiful night and walk off.

For once, I didn’t look back.
