How it began

"Honestly Dean you think you have so much fucking control over me," I screamed. "You don't and you never fucking will."

Okay hold up this is the end of the story, and we need to go back to the beginning, the very beginning.

My name is Ameleah Winchester, and my story starts in 1989. I was two years old; my dad (John Winchester) was dealing with a case when he found me inside my childhood home. I was alone and scared, the monster had killed my parents. I screamed as John removed me from the cabinet I was hiding in and took me back to that dusty motel. He had decided that the right thing to do was take me in and raise me as his own, and that is exactly what he did. As I grew up, I was sheltered from everything, I never knew why dad was always away. Dean was never any help, when I asked he would just tell me it's another hunting trip and not to worry about it. Dad wouldn't be gone for more than a day, at the most 2.  When he went out, he left Dean, Sam, and I alone. It didn't matter though because he would always come home, and when he came home, he would always spoil me. Being the only girl in the family had its perks, and dad spoiled me rotten because he would say princess deserved the best. I was always his favorite (don't tell Sam or Dean I said that) so that meant I was first priority... well aside from work. Sometimes I worried though and I questioned everything even when Dean would tell me to stop. I was worried, what if one day dad never came home, but he always came back.

Years passed and life moved forward.  We all moved from place to place together for dads stupid hunting. Eventually when Dean turned 16, he went with dad on the hunting trips and Sam, and I would be left at the motels together. Sam is only four years older than I am, but he was an amazing big brother. He would always help me with everything I needed, and he would let me ask questions that Dean most certainly would not. Most of the questions he didn't answer, but I didn't mind because at least he would listen to me. It felt like time went on forever but really it didn't. Sam went off to college and I stayed with dad and Dean. After a while life seemed to stay the same and I thought it would be this perfect forever. After Sam went off to college, I was always sitting in dingy motel rooms alone wishing I could be anywhere but here. I always had to remind myself it's for my own good. They were doing it to protect me, but from what? I never knew, dad would never talk to me about it and Dean would always do as dad said which was to not tell me anything.

One day Dean actually stayed at the motel with me because dad said he had "business" to do and that it was private. We sat in the motel until late that night waiting for dad to show up, but he didn't. I eventually fell asleep hoping that when I woke up he would be back but he wasn't. Another couple of nights went by and when I kept waking up only Dean was there. One day Dean said "Come on Leah, Pack up your stuff we're going."

"Where?" I questioned, I wasn't thinking he was gonna give me a answer but I was curious anyways. It shocked me when he looked up from packing his bag and said,

"To get Sammy. He needs to know that dads gone. He will understand when I tell him." He looked back down and continued packing his stuff. I got up and got my bag and started packing. I knew that there was more going on than Dean was telling me but there was no point to ask because he wouldn't tell me anyways.

It was a long drive so I just looked at my phone hoping I would get a call from dad or even Sam, but I never did. Night rolled around and by 2am we were finally at Stanford University. I was going to see Sam after not seeing him for the longest time. Dean parked baby, his '67 Chevy Impala (which he probably loves more than anything else) and spoke. "Leah listen to me," he said with his eyes narrowed staring right into mine. "We are going to go into Sam's dorm, he's probably going to put up a fight but I can handle him. You need to stand back until I tell you it's okay. Do you understand?"

"Yes,"  I replied obediently. I knew that arguing I could fight too would be worthless. That was the only thing dad ever really taught me. He said that it would help me later in life, whatever that meant. Once we got to Sam's dorm Dean took out a bobby pin and started picking the lock. We went inside and looked around a little bit and just as Dean said Sam came out and swung at Dean. The fought on the ground for a little bit until Dean says

"Woah, easy tiger."

"Dean?" Sam says shocked "you scared the crap out of me."

"That's because you're out of practice," Dean says smirking. Sam catches dean off guard and pins him to the floor, "Or maybe not" Dean says proud. Sam looks over at me.

"Dean what the hell? Why did you bring Ameleah with you? If dad found out she wasn't in the motel he would kill you." Sam says worried and confused. Before he could say anything Jess comes out of the bedroom. "Oh, um Dean, Ameleah, this is my girlfriend Jess."

"Well hello there, " Dean says with a smirk. "If you don't mind Jess We have some private family business we need to talk about." but before Jess can leave Sam says

"Whatever you need to say to me you can say to us both." Dean turns looks at Sam and Jess hand and hand, takes a deep breath and says

"Dad's on a hunting trip, and he hasn't been home in a few days."

Right then Sam lets go of Jess's hand walks over to Dean nods his head and walks out the door while Dean follows. That's when I knew life was about to take a turn, but I had no idea what I was truly instore for.

It felt like hours that Sam and Dean were talking, in reality it was merely minutes. They walked back into the dorm room, Sam looked worried. Dean looked like he always does, furrowed brow and a blank expression. Sam walked past me and Jess straight to his room without saying a word. He grabbed a duffel bag and started shoving clothes into it left and right. Sammy is all about order so the fact he was just shoving clothes and not taking the time to fold them I knew something was seriously wrong. About 10 minutes later he walks out of his room and looks at Jess.

"I have got to go, but just for a little while. I will be back before you know it." She looked at him like she wanted to say something, but she didn't. Just like that we were back in the car. For a while we were silent with only some Metallica playing over the stereo. After about an hour of driving I finally spoke.

"So are you going to tell me what's happening? Or are you going to leave me clueless like you usually do?" I honestly didn't think that either of them were going to tell me anything but after a minute Dean spoke.

"All you need to know is that dad might be in trouble.'" He sounded annoyed.

"Can I get a little more information?" I knew that it was a long shot because they always kept me in the dark, but I needed to know more.

"Leah when you need to know more I will tell you but right now all you need to know is exactly what I just told you." I could hear in his voice that now he was getting angry. I rolled my eyes and turned to watch the trees pass as we cruised on down the highway to who knows where.
