She soon walked back into the little house to the smell of freshly baked cookies. As the day went on, she found herself enjoying the day more than usual. It was just a typical Sunday, but she felt happy........like really happy.

Nora, could you help me with dinner?" Her mom yelled her from downstairs. "Coming!" She yelled back, coming downstairs."What are we making?" She asked when she got to the kitchen. "Well, since it's Sunday, I thought we could make chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, and for desert ice cream and hot fudge."

"Sounds good to me, but we don't have an ice cream maker." She responded. "Mr. Wonka already agreed to let us use his whenever we like Charlie and Mr. Wonka will bring it with them when they get done with work." Her mom said matter of factually. "Oh, ok," she responded.

Nora quickly started peeling potatoes and put them on the stove to boil, while her mom stuffed the chicken and put it in the oven. "Evening Buckets." Charlie's voice rang out. "Good evening." Willy said, walking in behind him carrying the ice cream maker. Everyone greeted them back.

"Good evening, Mrs. Bucket, Nora." Willy said, coming into the kitchen. "Good evening, Willy.'Her mom replied than left to talk to Charlie. "Good evening, Mr. Wonka."  Nora said politely. "Here's the ice cream maker, and please call me Willy." He smiled at her. "Alright, thanks for letting us use this." She replied, smiling a little bit.

A few words were spoken between the others about how Nora was smiling.

Mrs. Bucket. "She's really smiling!"

Charlie"Yeah, she did today, too."

Grampa Joe"Oh, I'm so glad."

Mr. Bucket"Looks like Willy's a good influence on her."

(20 minutes later)

Mrs. Bucket made the hot fudge while  Nora made the ice cream batter and poured it into the bowl, then put ice and salt around the outside. Then he started cranking the handle. Soon, the ice cream was ready, and she put it into a big decorative bowl and put it into the ice box.

They all sat down and started eating and talking about their day. Willy and Nora sat beside each other, occasionally glancing at each other. Willy and Charlie were talking about their new candy idea to the others, but Nora had zoned out, it didn't happen often, but when it did it usually took some time for her to come back.

"Nora, Nora? Hey, earth to Nora!" Charlie's voice suddenly became louder. "Huh? Oh, right, what's wrong, Charlie?" She asked, looking at him. "I was just wondering what you wanted to do for your birthday." He replied excitedly. "What do you mean? My birthday isn't for a couple of months!" She replied, confused. "Look at the calendar." Her mom urged her. So she did, and sure enough, her birthday was only a week and a half away.

"Oh, I hadn't realized." She said awkwardly before going away from the calendar and into the kitchen to get the dessert. "So what're you gonna do?" Charlie asked after she returned. "I don't know, I forgot about it, so I guess I just won't celebrate." She responded nonchalantly. "But you have to. You're turning 25! That's an important number!" Willy spoke up.

"It's fine, I haven't celebrated my birthday in years. This one is no different than the others." She responded, putting the ice cream and hot fudge into bowls. Willy felt so bad for her. She acted as though she was fine and that it didn't matter, but something in her eyes was telling him that she wanted to celebrate her birthday.

So he made up his mind, he would give her a surprise party. Then maybe just maybe she wouldn't have that sad look in her eyes when she talked about her birthday.

They said they're good nights and went their separate ways. It was a restless night for Willy. He was much too excited to sleep. Eventually, after lots of tossing and turning, he finally fell asleep.
