Yoimiya POV:
I can hear my alarm going off on my room. I feel hesitant to get up, until I remember what day it is, September 28. I put on my usual smile, but today it seems almost bigger than usual. I look up at my calendar, today is marked with no words, but just a heart. Although I forget a lot of things, I could never forget this.
Ayaka's birthday.
I had been planning everything out for weeks now, waiting for this day to arrive. Even just thinking about her made me smile. She made me happy, but it felt like my feelings towards her were more than that. Every time I saw her, it felt like she lit up the room, i immediately felt warm inside. IJUSTLOVEHERSOMUCHSHEMAKESMESOHAPPYYY!!!
I grabbed the basket that was sitting on the ground by my desk. She was going to have the best birthday ever, if I had a say in it. She definitely deserved such a birthday. I had filled the basket the night before with all of her favorite snacks, her favorite blanket that she always wanted when she came to my house, presents, and a letter.
I grabbed the basket and took it down to a little spot on the beach. It almost reminded me of a cave. It was a decent sized area, surrounded by large rocks. I thought I would take her to my favorite place for her birthday picnic surprise. I also brought down a few special fireworks I had made for this occasion.
After I was done with setting things up in there I began the stroll towards the Kamisato estate, to go wish Ayaka a happy birthday. Several people greeted me on the way, "Good morning Yoimiya!" "How are you doing, Yoimiya." And other things like that, but I didn't pay too much attention, I was busy thinking about everything I had planned for today.
In a few hours, evening started, I would take her for a stroll on the beach, where I would surprise her with a picnic and fireworks. I would read her my letter, and give her some presents. I would light specially made fireworks and we would watch them together. Eeeeek, even just thinking about it makes me wanna squeal with excitement!
As I slowly approached the estate, I was greeted by one of the guards.
"Why do you wish- oh it's you. Yoimiya, I'm guessing you're here to wish Ayaka a happy birthday?"
"That guess would be right," I giggled. "How is she?"
"She is the same as always, you may pass. But before you go please remember, no fireworks in the Kamisato estate"
"Thanks! And no promises about the firework thing" I say as I enter the plaza. I can see Ayaka taking a small walk outside. My heart flutters as I see her walk towards me. ILOVEHERSOFREAKINGMUCHOHMYARCHONS.
"AYAKA!!" I yell.
"Hello, Yoimiya." She says, with such a calm and refined elegance, it makes my heart sigh. I run towards her and give her a hug.
"It's someone's special day~" I chimed. "Do you need me to sing you the song?"
"No, really I am fine Yoimiya," she replied, looking a little flustered.
"As you wish m'lady!" I said. My smile felt so big, like i was actually grinning from ear to ear. But I just can't help it. She is so adorable when she is flustered, it just is too cute!
I looked up at the sky, it was around 5:00.
"I'm sure many people came to wish you happy birthday?" I asked her.
"I mean my parents, Thoma, and Ayato already wished me a happy birthday," Ayaka remarked. "I also received many letters wishing me a pleasant birthday.
"Would you like to take a walk along the beach with me," I suggested, I said it so fast that it felt like one word. Damn it Yoimiya, this is one thing you can't screw up. This is one thing that is really important.
For once thoughts crossed my mind of this plan not working. What if Ayaka says no? What do I do then? These thoughts began to overload my brain.
"Yes, I would love to," I could hear her say. I looked up. "First, I would like to grab some stuff. If that's ok with you?"
"O-of course, take as much time as you need!" I answered, glad that she even agreed to come. "Can I come inside with you?"
"Sure, but could you wait downstairs, while I get my stuff?" Ayaka asked.
"Anything you want, birthday girl," I respond. We both laugh a bit and then go inside. At first the estate felt a little eerie, all of the lights were turned off.
"ooh spooky lighting, huh," I could barely see two feet infront of me but I could see Ayaka and she looked scared. I felt a little guilty for making that joke so I followed it up with, "Umm, are you okay, Ayaka?"
"I can't see a thing!" Ayaka gasped.
"It's ok, everything will be fine. I can light a sparkler with my vision, so we can see."
I light it up, but to my absolute horror, I see all of Ayaka's friends jump out from behind the furniture.
"SURPRISE!"
