In the Dystopia of Amelia, there is a thing that some of you might call a lottery called Remer every year where you are chosen to have a transformation to become perfect. You are entered when you are born and you could be chosen when you are just one or even a newborn, they are very lucky. Being chosen is very rare though. They are called the perfects. Your name is taken out of the Remer once you turn 20 and you are stuck all your life being ugly, they are call the disadvantages. Once you are chosen you are taken away from Amelia to the perfect Utopia of Gael where everyone perfect lives and everything is perfect. There is just one terrible thing. If you are born beautiful and by the age of 17, if you are perfect or already beautiful without the transformation, you are executed. So if you are ugly you are lucky. I am unlucky though, I am 16 and 17 in a month. I was born beautiful and I am already perfect. I can be executed in a month unless I find the person who is magical and can help me.
Chapter one-
I am Velvet Jimson. I am 16. I go to The Private Academy For Girls Of Amelia or TPAFGOA. I have three sisters by the names and ages of Karma (9), Mali (14) and my other sister who the Remer and is now in Gael named Isabelle (18). I am scared that I will not be here to tell you the end of this story but never say never. Mom started to fry the eggs on the pan and I could smell the sweet air of syrup. My two ugly sisters Karma and Mali started to pour over the syrup on their pancakes. Mali was excited because today was the day of Remer. Mali started to chatter about Remer because that was all she thought about since Isabelle was chosen three years ago. Mali was dressed in Isabelle’s old red dress she wore three years ago. It was a pretty dress but it was a little big on Mali who was a small ugly while Isabelle was a big ugly. The lace hung down to her knees while the collar was a little above her chin. Mali would be a beautiful perfect with her blond hair and gray eyes. My eyes were a light green while my hair was long and black. I sat at the table while mom turned around with a teapot of tea in her hands. My mom is a disadvantage and so is my dad. No one knows how I became beautiful but two negatives make a positive. Karma held her head low and my mom put a cup of tea in front of her with a smile “cheer up honey bun, today is the Remer.” Karma was young and she didn’t understand much about the Remer and me being beautiful but Karma knew what happened to beautiful people. Karma started to cry “I don’t want Velvet to go!” mom held Karma and everyone left the room to get dressed, it was time. We watched the Remer on TV and if your name was called you were transported to the transformation room where you become perfect. I put on a old yellow dress that was long and was down to my knees with a pair of boots. I braided my hair into a crown and started to tie my ribbon into my hair when mom walked in she looked frantic and disturbed but that happens to Disadvantages on Remer. Mom held a book out to me screaming and pushing me out the door “go hurry, run away to be safe And everything you need to survive is in that book, You aren’t going to get chosen so leave before you die!”
Chapter two:
I ran out to the woods and sat on a rock while I opened the book. The book started to talk and I freaked out “hello my name is Cricket G. Hemmingworth the third and I am your survival book. I include a guide, clothes, home, food and transportation.” I grinned “I’m Velvet Kayla Jimson, I guess I’m supposed to be with you to survive but won’t people notice that there is a house in the middle of the woods?” Cricket laughed “you and I are the only ones who can see the house. I sat on the ground “can you tell me information?” Cricket laughed again “I’m a magical book, I can tell you about anything but I am picky about the future!” I twiddled my fingers around “who has won the Remer?” Cricket took three minutes and finally answered “you are very lucky, it was not you but someone in your family named Karma.” I jumped up “she will be so happy but Mali has been wishing for this forever and Karma is young!” I knew Mali would be disappointed. I wanted something else too “Cricket, can you take me to Gael?” Cricket closed and the house came down “I am not supposed to but since you are already perfect, I guess I can take you but if you run into one of the guards. You will have to give him your card telling when you were transformed.” I shrugged “I don’t have a card because I was born beautiful!” Cricket laughed “oops, sorry, forgot that. Just try not to run into the guards.” in just a few seconds we were in Gael and I flet like I belonged.
