You magnificent bastards wanted more of Earth Unconquered. So here's an taste for what mankind evolves into. This is not an official sequel to the event of Earth Unconquered, but is something I've come up with until I can plan out an official sequel.

"Captain, we're coming up on the anomaly picked up in the region. Sensors are now tracking an unknown radiation in the point of origin."

"Raise shields immediately after we drop out of FTL. I don't want to risk losing a vessel if this evolves into a threat."

About 12 hours ago, an unknown anomaly was detected within deep space around the outer colonies. A lot of the space within this region was not as developed, with many systems yet to be fully explored or occupied. Many anomalies have been detected and recorded in the past. But this one was more unique based on the readings it was giving off.

In response, a small escort fleet was deployed to investigate the anomaly and secure it for future study. The region they were investigating was known for it's high activity in pirate raids, using hit and run tactics to attack commercial starships and retreat before an armed fleet could respond. Most of their attempts ended in failure with how quick armed starships could respond with their transmaterial drives, able to teleport to any attack within 100 lightyears of their vicinity. Pirate ships, while armed and shielded, lacked the mass, durability, and firepower associated with even an escort frigate.

"Dropping out of Quantum Space in 3...2...1."

The small fleet emerged back into Real Space in the vicinity of where the anomaly was located. The fleet mostly consisted of small light ships, with the exception of it's command ship which, while not the largest, was a sizable capital ship.

Azrael-class missile destroyer: This frontline capital ship has earned a lot of respect amongst it's operators and infamy amongst it's opponents. It's compliment of missile launchers give the ship a respectable amount of lethality from mid to long ranges.

The destroyer's name was the O.S.S. Phoenix, assigned in command of the 212nd (Twenty one second) Escort Fleet. Primarily assigned to deal with ongoing pirate threats across the outer colonies. It already has 12 tallies under it's records of ship kills. Presently in command of the ship and it's fleet is Captain Yuri, who's commission as commander of the Phoenix began 2 years ago after achieving rank of captain.

Having arrived at their destination, the Phoenix and it's accompanying ships activated their energy shields as a precaution by their commander. The dark drey hulls of every ship shimmered as a layer of transparent energy encompassed them. The shields were made standard across all starships, military and commercial, however military grade shields were more powerful and designed in the intention of holding up in heavy combat compared to commercial grade which was intended for protection against threats like asteroids or meteorites.
