What if?

Reserve Driver

i was a driver for the prema power team.
i raced in formula 2 and was now getting a job as a reserve driver in mclaren.
As we already know the mclaren drivers name are Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Oscar was new to the team.
so was i.
i switched to f2 when Oscar joined F1 so we never really had one opportunity to talk.
Lando was my favourite driver since the start.
we were on the same karting team when we  were young.
sadly after lando joined f1 me and Lando didnt have contact anymore.
Today everything will change.
they had a meeting with the whole team to get to know each other.
i walked into the room.
everyone was already there but oscar caught my eyes first.
a big smile brightened up on his face.
i couldn't help but smile back.
there was one seat free between Lando and Oscar so i sat down.
the team started to ask me questions and all that stuff.
after the interview we got to do some games.
i really got a great team.
after about two hours we got to have a break.
We sat outside and talkef about us.
„so...do y'all have plans this evening?"
„no i dont think so why?"
„do yall wanna go out to eat together? just to get to know us better you know?"
i looked over to oscar and nodded.
we talked for another bit and then i left to go home.
i went home, showered and i just fell asleep.
i woke up to a unknown number calling me.
half asleep i pick it up:
„hello? whos this?"
„its lando, can i come pick u up with oscar in an hour?"
„oh yeah ill send u my adress right away."
as he hung up i panicked.
what am i gonna wear?!
eventually i picked out some jeans and a white top.
im so excited!!
an hour later they were here.
i got into the back of the car.
we listened to music and talked on the way there.
we ate and had fun there.
it was a beautiful evening.
as we were talking and having fun someone walked towards our table.
he tapped on Landos shoulder.
"hey mate what u doing here?"
i looked over to Oscar.
"do you know who this is?"
"nah..but Lando has a lot of friends so yeah."
silence.
"guys is it okay if i go with him real quick? yall can wait by the car."
"mkay well wait."
so me and Oscar left.
by now it was already very late and cold.
"mate where is lando im freezing!"
"mh u want my jacket? im not cold anywa-"
"no no keep it i can wait until he comes"
"take it i dont want u to be sick"
"no no im fine i swear-"
he already had placed the jacket onto me.
"just bring it back sometime alright?"
i nodded and shortly after Lando was walking towards us.
"Sorry for waiting haha"
we got onto the car and he dropped me off at my place.
