This one isn't too complicated of a historical novel, however, in places where Henry IV and Henry V are both named together or someone is using a diminutive, Henry V will be denoted as 'Hal' and Henry IV will be 'Harry', for Henry VI we'll use the diminutive 'Rex'. There is no real historical evidence as to what any of the men used as diminutives beyond likely Harry, so I'm using the above as logical diminutives to aid in ease of reading.

Surviving family of Henry IV

Henry V (formerly prince of Wales): opportunistic and war hungry eldest son, twenty six years old
Thomas, Duke of Clarence: unintelligent but good natured second born son, twenty five years old
John, Duke of Bedford: steady but ultimately mean spirited third oldest son, twenty four years old.
Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester: clever and foul tempered youngest son, twenty-three years old.

Joan, Queen of England: second wife, who though she has no children with the king is fond of her step children

Philippa of Lancaster: youngest legitimate child, already married off no longer living in England

Edmund: illegitimate son sent into the priesthood, has nothing to do with his royal family

Henry Beaufort, Bishop of Winchester: younger brother by about ten years
Thomas Beaufort: younger brother by about twelve years

Margret Holland: daughter in law, wife of Thomas, with whom she has no children

Richard Courtenay: usual companion of Henry V

John, Duke of Bedford: younger brother, usually trustworthy, and charming
Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester: youngest brother, loyal to his brother the king but generally ill tempered
John Holland, Duke of Exeter: second cousin, unshakably loyal
Henry Beaufort, Bishop of Canterbury: uncle who is steadfastly loyal to the king
Edmund Mortimer, Earl of March: second cousin, has a claim to the throne but remains loyal to the Lancasterian kings

Catherine of Valois: wife of only two years, twenty two years old
Henry VI (formerly Prince of Wales): nine month old son whom Henry V has never met

Margret of Anjou, Queen of England: Wife, about eight years younger than Henry, and mother of their son Edward
Jasper Tudor, Earl of Pembroke: younger half brother, about ten years younger than Henry, loyal his brother
