His house was in Ottery St Catchpole, and since (Y/N) never went there, she fell in love at how beautiful the place looked. Although his dad worked with the ministry, his house was modest sized. It was everything that she needed for her whole summer; a nice house near a lake with a nice, wide field that they can relax at.

"Well, what do you think?" Cedric asks after the two got off from the cab, hearing the car driving away afterwards.

(Y/N)'s eyes widened at how cosy his house looked like. "It's... welcoming." She exhales out at how windy yet warm it is. The girl walked closer to the flowers that were at the front of his house and kneeled down.

"Buttercups and daisies... there are so many of these around," she stated while picking a daisy, standing up and walked towards the tall one. "I like your place."

Cedric nodded at her statement, feeling his cheeks warming at how astonishing she looked when appreciating the flowers. "Yeah... mother thought it'd be nice if—" it surprised him when she pulled his tie down so that she could place the daisy behind his ear. "... we had guests over."

She smiled, and soon enough, the two heard the door creek open. There revealed Cedric's mother, Mrs. Diggory. She seemed like a lovely woman, but (Y/N) quickly moved two steps away from Cedric, coughing awkwardly. The boy blushed before he gave his mother a hug.

"Welcome home, sweetheart," The woman says, caressing her son's hair.

(Y/N) just watched as she felt her heart warming up over the sight. "Hi, mum," Cedric whispers and when he wanted to introduce the girl behind him to his mother, Mrs. Diggory noticed first and pulls her boy away slowly, a smile forming on her sweet-looking face.

"You must be (Y/N)," the woman steps forward and took the girl's hands, giving it a light squeeze. "Cedric always talked about you last Christmas—" she pulls her in for a hug.

The girl couldn't deny that statement made her heart jump, but her feelings seemed much more focused on how nice it feels to be hugged from a mother. It feels like she's being protected, vulnerable. She never wanted to let go of this feeling, but eventually, she needed to. This was Cedric's mother, not hers.

Cedric chuckled at that, not denying it. But he did notice the sudden change of behavior when she was hugged by his mom. This made him feel happy for her.

"Hi, Mrs. Diggory—"

"Oh, please call me mum," The woman cuts her off gently, fixing the girl's hair as the two smiled at each other.

"But..?"

"No buts! Now, Cedric, be a good son and help bring (Y/N)'s things inside, yeah?" Mrs. Diggory said as she held her hand, smiling at her son in which he just smiled back, feeling jealous that (Y/N)'s being stolen away.

The woman brought the girl inside, which surprised her even more at how comfortable looking it is on the inside. Everything really feels... 'Hufflepuff', all warm colors.

"Cedric's father is still at work, but he'll come home soon!" Mrs. Diggory grins as she took the girl around the house for a tour, showing every bits of her property to (Y/N) like she's her own child. She even showed off the garden that she has– which she'd usually never let Amos nor Cedric get into.

As soon as they stopped in front of a room, Cedric halted besides the two with (Y/N)'s luggage. He gave her a warm smile, and she returned it.

Mrs. Diggory opened the door and it shows the guest room that she'll be staying at. This made her gasp as it looks wonderful for a guest room; it was very well decorated, with flower paintings on the wall and the window showed the amazing view of their town.
