Nothing interesting happened during May. Cedric and I sometimes study together. He'd ask for my help, and I'd ask for his presence. We both would study together at the library, sometimes near the black lake on a morning Sunday because the air feels fresh.
As of now, the two of us were at the library. He asked me to teach him about charms, which is one of my best subjects and I suggested that he should ask someone else because I didn't want him to feel more stupid, but he insisted that he understands best when his 'girlfriend', me, guides him. He brought his notebooks and quill, and I only brought myself and my wand.
We sat at our old place; the one where I did my math and he watched me after he saved me from the Slytherin prefect. It feels cosy, and since most students prefer to study outside where they can be as loud as possible, Cedric and I get to talk freely.
"So," I grabbed his notebook and open it, seeing his neat handwriting and clean structures of notes. Something about this made me blush as this was the first time I saw his handwriting.
Cedric noticed, and I hear him chuckle. He leans closer to me and our faces were an inch away. He looks at his notebook first then shifted towards me. "Surprised?" The boy next to me asks.
I huff at his boldness, turning my face to fully face him while my cheeks were still red. "Just tell me which charms you don't understand," I puckered my lips as I blow his face, making him laugh and sat normally again.
"Here," He flips his notebook and it stops at the severing charm.
"This charm has been here forever. What's so difficult about it?" I turn my head, asking genuinely as I know that this charm could harm the living, but I wanted to hear it from him.
Cedric's cheeks turned red as I asked. "I never tried it whenever I'm around people, so... Professor Flitwick wants me to revise it again." He mutters and I smile at that. I flip his book to the very end and ripped a paper, placing it beside me and putting away his book.
"(Y/N)-"
"Cedric, you won't hurt me."
"But what if I-"
I roll my eyes at this as I shifted myself to shut him up with a kiss. As much as I hated to be affectionate in public, I knew that doing this can make him persuaded. It lasted for a few moments, but I pulled away when he was about to sail away by this. I needed him to focus.
He looked happy when I kissed him, but sad too when I needed to pull away. "You won't hurt me. I promise," I gently caress a strand of hair of his away, feeling my cheeks go warm over this. "Just focus."
"Okay..." He takes a deep breath and held his wand, gazing at the piece of paper that was beside me.
When I first learnt about this charm, I thought it seemed like it could be one of the most unforgiven spells ever made, so I understand that he'd hesitate at first. He looked at the paper, then at me. I gave him a reassuring nod and he slightly smiles at that, focusing on the object once again.
"Diffindo!" The paper was slit in half. This led me to grin and clapped my hands slightly.
"Good job, Ced," He attacks me with a hug. I didn't know whether this was because he was relieved that I didn't get cut or slashed into two, or because of the praise.
A Ravenclaw walked by, and that made me freeze for a moment, but they didn't notice us as they were reading a book. That was a relief. Cedric buried his face in my shoulder and kept mumbling things like, 'I did it' 'I'm so glad I didn't hurt you' 'I can't do that again around you'. He's so adorable. Is he really a fifth-year?
I let him hug me for as long as he wants and that because I was enjoying this moment, but as soon as I hear familiar voices entering the library, I quickly flip his book so that his name wasn't revealed and pulled up his hood to cover his brown hair that's very well known other than his whole-self in this school. He seemed confused, but as soon as he hears the voices, too, he kept in his position and just continued to breathe against my neck. This tickled and a neck was sure everyone's sensitive spot.
"Where the hell is Diggory?" The voice whispers as it just keeps getting closer.
I made sure my hands were around his neck so that his hood could be kept up. Mentally, I prepared myself for an embarrassing moment.
As Cedric's group passed us by and noticed me, they slightly gape their mouths open. I nervously smiled and pleaded with the girl from his group to catch the 'girl-signal', but she was too shocked to even say anything.
"(Y/N)?" One of the boys asked but then smirked. "Who's that you got there in your arms?"
"No one," I whisper-yell at them, "can you please move along now? Can't you see what I'm doing is private?"
"In a library? Hmmm, yeah, sure," they quietly laugh at my remark, and when one of them was about to walk closer to the two of us, I quickly pointed my wand at them and looked at them with a serious face, yet my cheeks have gotten more red.
They jumped at my action, looking at me in shock. "You guys might be fifth years but I'm more experienced at this, so if you don't move along and respect my very kind wish, I'll cast Locomotor Mortis. I'm sure you guys have learnt about that, right?"
"Okay, okay, okay! We'll leave you alone," The other says, grabbing their friend behind, actually intimidated. They didn't feel harassed or insulted, which I'm glad about, but I still feel bad for threatening them. "Before we go, have you seen Cedric?"
When they mentioned his name, Cedric wiggles under my arms. Immediately, I shook my head and responded, "No. Maybe he's relaxing somewhere near the lake."
"Okay. Thanks!" The girl says as she quickly shoves them all to head outside the library. While doing so, I could hear them whispering 'Wait 'til Cedric hears about this' 'Who was that person anyways?' 'it can't be Cedric, that's for sure. I can't imagine seeing (Y/N) all lovey-dovey with him' 'You're right. Besides, why would Cedric avoid us anyway' they were snickering.
As soon as they were completely out of the library, Cedric didn't release himself as he just tighten the hug.
"Cedric," I tried to pull him away, but he wouldn't bother. His breath felt warm, and I knew he was doing something. "It tickles." But it feels like something else, too.
"But I like this."
"I'll seriously smack your head if you don't get off from me."
He slightly chuckles at that, slowly pulling himself away from my neck but his arms stayed around my body. He looked at me and smiled. "I like you."
"I know."
