"Say Cheese!!" Narema's Mom said as she clicked the shutter on the recycled camera, a bright flash followed by a whirring sound as the camera printing the photo followed,
Narema quickly blew out the candles and clapped her hands, smiling she shoved her face into the cake, getting icing and strawberry filling everywhere, Narema just as quickly pulled her face out and laughed loudly with her missing two front teeth showing, she then blinked as another bright flash of light followed by another whirring sound shot at her face.
"What's going on?"
Narema heard the voice coming from the front door behind her, Narema turned around to see her dad pulling off his shoes, a frustrated look painted across his face. Narema knew this night would not last in its happiness,
"We're celebrating Narema's birthday, Herth." Narema's Mom said a flash of fear behind her eyes showed her distress.
Narema quickly ran to the bathroom, washed up, and put on her coat, just like they had planned if Dad came home early. She walked to the door and put her shoes on, Narema then headed out of the house and took her usual route, behind me Narema could hear glass breaking inside the house and the yell of her mother as she screamed at my dad.
Narema walked down the sidewalk as she opened her gift from her Mom, a small music player with earbuds attached to it fell out into her hand, Narema turned it on and stuffed the earbuds into her ears 'What a great gift' she thought to herself as she started to play the music. Just then Narema felt a rush of wind and a static pull, she whirled around to see nothing but when she turned back to finish her walk, a blue-black demon stood in front of her. He looked human except for the exceptionally sharp joints like he was covered in really thin, really spiky, black and blue armor
"Well, well, well!" the demon said as he rubbed his hands together,
"What do we have here?" another demon said behind Narema, who hadn't been there a second ago.
Narema pulled her hands up to her chest "P-please don't hurt me!" she said as the demons looked at each other, Narema then bolted for a blue button on the side of the road, and quickly pressed it, sending an alarm to the Anti-corruption task force.
Suddenly Narema felt a cold shock as the first demon ran through her, She felt a weird pulling as the goo surrounding the two demons created a cord that would corrupt the human body, Narema screamed out as the second one did the same, and they did it again and again until the cords suspended Narema in the air, and the last thing she'd know before everything went dark, was a breeze that chilled her to her core.**********************************
Glithen ran into the park. Hopefully, this isn't just another prank – yes! Glitheren thought as he saw a small girl with jet-black hair being run through by two-speed demons. Speed demons, despite all points to the contrary, weren't that hard to deal with, just really really annoying. You see, the thing with speed demons is that they need to commit to an action and then do it with great speed. It's a lot more like teleporting than speed, except for the fact that you can interrupt the action in the process. The key to beating a speed demon is just to stay one step ahead of – Right, there's a person currently being corrupted, focus on taking down the corrupters. Snapping out of his analytical stupor (which only took a few seconds) Glithen pulled out a throwing knife and, well, threw it at the demons... and missed. But he did catch their attention.
One of the demons stopped what he was doing and turned to face Gluten, freezing for a second committing to an action. Glithen quickly drew his enhanced broadsword and swung it in front of him, which the demon stopped just in front of. Dang! He knew I was going to do that! Then this must not be our first encounter. When was the last time a speed demon ran away from me? Rethan? No, there are two of them, he explicitly works alone. Oh. Just then the demon rushed the rest of the way to Glithen and gave him a powerful punch to the nose, sending him sprawling. Causing him to land on the floor with his sword falling a little ways away. "Hello Zanthar," Glithen said from the pavement.
"Good to see you too Glithen," Zanthar replied in a demonic distorted voice all demons have, before rushing at Glithen again, Glithen rolled to the side just before Zanthar appeared where Glithen used to be. Gluten then tackled Zanthar, rolling and ways before ending up on top and giving Zanthar a few good blows to the head. He jumped off Zanthar before the demon inevitably rushed out of Glithen's grasp and behind him. With Zanthar distracted by being in a position to grab where Glithen was, Glithen grabbed his sword and faced Zanthar. Then, instead of running towards Zanthar, Glithen raised his fist behind him to where Zanthar's head was sure to be, causing the speed demon to run right into it, in turn making him stumble backward and hit the ground. Glithen quickly turned and lowered his sword to Zanthar's head. WHAM! Glithen has pulled away from Zanthar and slammed into one of the nearby park trees. Right. there are two of them. Glithen thought as he looked up to see Zanthar's brother, Zetheren. Glithen gave Zetheren a grin, it was time to stop holding back.

Narema awoke to the sight of a dark mass giving no mercy to two young adults. Whenever one of them would try to punch or dodge the mass it would immediately counter the action with near-inhuman precision and talent. What was even stranger was that the young men would often freeze for a second before going at incredible speeds. Despite the young men's best efforts, they were losing. They eventually tried to run away, but while they froze for a second, preparing to rush, the dark mass grabbed one of them and tossed him onto the other. Then with both of them tangled together, the dark mass stepped forward with a sword. He was going to kill them. Narema had to do something, anything! She stood up just thinking that she had to help, just then a strong blast of wind knocked the mass off of the men. Did I do that? Narema thought, Yes. Yes, I had! Narema realized. But she didn't have much time to let that sink in, as the dark mass had already picked itself up, and was rushing back towards the men.
Narema willed another blast of wind toward the mass, but it was ready, the dark mass stood its ground, so Narema pushed even harder, forcing the dark mass to stumble back a short way. It then raised his sword, moving it in strange motions as if cutting away the wind, and for some reason that seemed to lessen the force of the gale. So Narema decided it was time to get rid of the sword, she focused on the air surrounding it, she made wind move and swirl, Grabbing hold of the sword and wrenched it from the grip of the dark mass. Narema then commanded the wind to fling the sword to the side, out of reach of the mass. She watched with satisfaction as it took a step back before fleeing.

What was that thing? Glithen though as he dashed through the park. It looked like a regular wind demon, with the corruption swirling around it, covering the girl that once was there. But I've never seen a wind demon that, one: could hold a blast of that strength for that long, and two: who had so much precision and power to make objects – not only float – but also take them out of other's hands. I get the feeling that bad things are coming the ACTF's way.
