henry sighed as he watched belch's car pull off.
"martha's out of town." patrick said, leading henry into his house.
henry stopped.
he stared at patrick confused.
"so your just going to forcefully invite me here without giving a reason?" henry asked, crossing his arms.
"yep." patrick replied, pulling henry into the house.
patrick slammed the door behind him, making henry jump.
he sighed. "henry, what's going on with you?"
"what do you mean?" henry asked, balling his hands into fists anxiously.
"so we're gonna pretend you didn't spend two whole class periods crying in my arms and then not tell me why?" patrick protested, crossing his arms.
"i don't have to tell you everything, you know." bowers said, pushing past patrick and walking into the kitchen.
patrick paused for a minute, the words still stinging in his ears. "i don't have to tell you everything, you know."
patrick reluctantly followed henry into the kitchen and watched him pour a glass of water.
"we're best friends, henry. you can at least tell me the important stuff." patrick said, trying to keep a low tone so he wouldn't start an argument.
henry turned to look at him in anger. "don't act like you don't keep things from me! we've been friends for three years and you still won't tell me why you ran away and how you ended up here?!"
patrick bit his tongue to keep him from shooting back and saying something he was gonna regret.
"well, that's just different!" patrick shouted, looking at henry with angry eyes.
"how is that different? i mean if you can't tell me why then why should i have to tell you why?" henry shouted, knocking over the glass with his arm as he spoke.
the glass hit the ground, making henry jump and shriek.
patrick nodded.
"why?" patrick said, pointing down at the glass.
"it's just a glass, dude. if it's that big a of a deal i'll replace it-" henry said with a shaky voice.
"no. no, no, no." patrick said with a loud sigh and his voice getting louder with each word.
"t-the door! and the glass!" patrick shouted.
henry looked away as shame filled his throat.
"why, do you keep jumping at every noise!" patrick shouted, making henry flinch again.
henry's eyes filled with tears, and he desperately tried wiping them before patrick noticed.
"is he- he's not." patrick said, beginning to pace in a frenzy of anger.
