The Turtles and Karai walked through the sewers heading to their current lar. Karai stuck close to Leo, remaining in her human form. Karai walked directly behind Leo, who was confused as to why Karai was standing directly behind him. Leo didn't mind it though. He still had feelings for Karai even if she was now a mutant snake. Leo just wasn't sure what to do with them. He wanted to be with Karai, but still wasn't sure if she felt the same way. Leo kept walking, looking over at Karai every once and a while to make sure she was okay. He was glad she was here. Karai slowly began to get even close to Leo, until she grabbed his arm and held it tight. Leo blushed as red as Raph's mask. "Why is she doing this?" Leo thought. Leo honestly didn't mind her holding onto his arm, but he was puzzled as to why. "It doesn't make sense. Karai had gone for months in her serpent form, and she seemed to have more of a snake mind, but now she's clinging onto my arm." He thought to himself. Leo looked at her and couldn't help but smile. He wanted her to know it would be alright, so he rubbed her arm with his free hand. The guys were behind Leo and Karai and were confused as to what it was they were seeing. Raph looked at Donnie and pointed at Leo and Karai. He opened his mouth but no words came out. Donnie just patted him on the shoulder with a similar expression on his face. Mikey also was confused but not to the extent of Raph and Donnie. Mikey walked over to where Leo and Karai were and attempted to talk to Karai, but as soon as he put his hand on her shoulder Karai tucked herself into Leo's arm. Mikey stopped walking and was puzzled. "Why does she seem afraid?" He asked. "I don't know Mikey. But we should keep moving." Leo said. Mikey then walked over to Raph and Donnie. "You as confused as I am?" Mikey asked his brothers. "Uh huh." Raph and Donnie both said together. Mikey began to ask another question but was shushed by his brothers, who were too confused to answer anything else. Karai would occasionally tremble and Leo would try to comfort her. As they walked they ran into a Kraang drone and quickly hid in the shadows. Karai still stuck right next to Leo. Raph then slowly snuck behind the drone and stabbed it with his sais. He looked over at his brothers and nodded that the coast was clear. Just as they began to continue walking, they were attacked by Kraang. "Aw sewer apples!" Raph said in annoyance. "I thought you said the coast was clear Raph!" Mikey said as he began taking down Kraang. "I thought it was!" Raph shouted back. A Kraang made its way over to Leo who was guarding Karai. More and more Kraang made their way over and grabbed Karai. "No!" Leo shouted and quickly dismantled the Kraang. Karai then dove into his arms. More Kraang arrived and grabbed Leo and threw him away from Karai. Karai hissed and used her snake arms to destroy the Kraang and ran to Leo. After fighting some more, they managed to destroy all the Kraang bots and continued on their way. Karai didn't speak at all the entire journey. They managed to exit the sewer without being seen by the Kraang and hid in a nearby alley. Leo then led Karai to where they were staying in the pizza parlor. They snuck in and went to do their own things. Leo wanted to find Master Splinter to let him know that they had found Karai and that she was here. Leo then set Karai on the couch and went to find Master Splinter. But as soon as Leo walked away from the couch, Karai shot up and hugged his arm. Leo once again blushed but then walked Karai over to where Master Splinter was. "Sensei." Leo said. Splinter then turned to see Leo and Karai and stood in shock. "Miwa"? He walked over to his daughter and hugged her. Karai stood there motionless, looking back towards Leo who was standing behind them. After the hug Karai moved back towards Leo and stood next to him. "Sorry Sensei, she still has a serpent mind." Leo explained. Splinter nodded and walked back to his room. Leo then showed Karai where she would be sleeping. She laid down but the second Leo started to leave, she shot up and ran to him. "You have to sleep, Karai." Leo said. She grabbed his arm wrapping her arms around it. "My room?" Leo asked. Karai nodded. They then walked to Leo's room and sat on the bed. "Goodnight Karai." Leo said laying down. Karai then transformed into her serpent form and wrapped herself around him. Shocked by this sudden assurance, Leo took his time to process what had just happened. Karai had quickly fallen asleep. "She's probably been exhausted, having to keep moving to avoid capture." Leo thought to himself. Wanting to change his sleeping position, Leo attempted to move, but was suddenly stopped by Karai squeezing her grip around him even tighter. He wiggled and wormed but was unable to move. Leo sighed."It's going to be a long night."
