Chapter 1

40 1 0

"And therefore, again, the sum of the calculation equals up to four-hundred-sixty-seven raised to the power of two. Understood, class?" The teacher turned and looked back to the class.

"UNDERSTOOD?"

The class quietly nodded grudgedly.

"Class dismissed. Remember to do your homework!" she said. A slight bustle filled the air as all the students noisily got up from their seats to leave.

"Ah, finally! It's lunchtime!" Isabella said as her and her best friend, Jordan, walked out of the classroom, their books for that class in their hands. Jordan turns to her innocently. "So, what are we going to do now?"

Isabella sighs, looking exasperated, probably from the stress of the lesson that just ended. "We'll eat lunch at the school park."

The both of them walk over to their respective lockers (beside each other by coincidence), which are part of countless of other lockers, all propped up, attached to the walls, in long, neat rows at each side.  Dismissively stuffing their books inside of them, they grab their lunch bags, shut their locker doors, and begin making their way to the ginormous school field.

                                                                                 .           .          .

Isabella and Jordan were well known for being long-term best friends. They had been for a very long time, since childhood, yet their friendship always managed to stay healthy and un-toxic. Isabella was part of one of the wealthiest families in the country, and so was Jordan. But they were not siblings.

The two of them both attend Pour de Fraise, one of the wealthiest and most prestigious high schools in the world, so expensive and rare that the dreaded, 3-hour long entrance examination to the school gave it a bad reputation, especially among people fond of gossiping about it, mostly parents; people who had little but much to say, they could not even afford the school, after all.

The duo are also the prettiest girls in their school, among the many popular, but the most.

Jordan usually plays the role of being Isabella's best friend-ager, as they called it, her manager and best friend, the person that always managed to sort things out when Isabella was busy or occupied, even with extracurricular activities and such.

                                                                          .                  .                 .

They slowly strut through the school field, talking, while searching for a bench to sit down and have their desired lunch at.

"I have a lot of overdue homework, you know", Jordan chuckled nervously, after the silence that briefly followed the end of the discussion of the last topic they just talked about, about a specific teacher in the school. "And they're easy to do, though; I could literally complete all of them now, if I had the time to. Or the will to!"

Isabella chuckled, her eyes searching around the field for a good bench. "Yeah, I understand," she says. "Homework is literally-"

Suddenly a large basketball flies out of nowhere at an unrealizable speed and  blows straight into the side of Isabella's face. She immediately falls backwards and forcefully lands on the back of her head, and soon everything began to fade and blur into blackness.

For a few brief seconds she hears the faint but piercing sound of Jordan screaming and rushing footsteps coming closer and closer towards her.

Then... nothing.

[DISCLAIMER]  Thank you so much for reading! I know you might be thinking that it was a little off, cringy, or poorly written, but that's because this (and Chapter Two) is actually an uncompleted story that I wrote during my first week of 8th grade (I'm still in 8th grade now, though). Back then, I quickly lost motivation to continue it because of an incident that happened, and I even thought of it as boring and uninteresting, even though all my classmates were saying that it was actually very interesting and I should (at that time) continue it, but I didn't believe them, haha.

But its only today that I decided to read it again and I was taken aback by how good it actually is, so I decided to re-write it digitally (the Original version is hand-written). Although, I needed to fix the grammar that I used in the original 💀. Therefore, I have done so, and I hope you like it :D

(Don't worry, Chapter Two will be WAY more interesting than this one, lol.)

Again, thank you for reading❤️!
