A friend in the dark

**the bell rings**
I got to my class and sat at the back as usual and stared out the window
I need to get out of here I thought to myself
"Miss can I go to see the headteacher?"
"What for?"
"To..... Talk about something,"
"Ok,"
Thank god I got out. I now can go to the toilets and look at myself. The toilets are really the only place I can be alone in. I knew I couldn't be long as the teacher would expect me back. I know! I'll ask my mum if she can pick me up from school to get away from this mess.... Oh no..... Where's my phone?! I can't wait I need to get back.
**bell goes for lunch**

Lunch.... Great, just great. All I can do is sit alone on my table. Huh? I swear something just tapped me. I turned around. A boy was sat next to me. I hope he's no scared of me.
"Hey Emma"
"How do you know my name?"
"I'm josh, I knew from everyone calling you things,"
"Oh, so you want to be my friend?"
This was it. I might actually get my first friend just please say yes.
"Of course, I'll be your friend!"
"Thanks,"

JOSH'S POV:
When I walked in I just felt sorry for her, I mean she has no friends and is alone. So when I said hi I knew people wouldn't like me seen as I'm one of the popular guys. But it's better to stick together than be alone. Even with a ugly face she was still a perfect person inside.
EMMA'S POV:
When I met josh for that few minutes I knew we would be good friends. Not much happened after that it was just lessons then FINALLY came the end of the day. I got pulled back by josh, he looked a bit nervous though.
"Umm.. I was wondering...,"
"Yes?"
"Would you like to hang out some time?"
I didn't know what to say. Should I say yes or no?
"Yes, I'd love to!"
"Ok thanks bye,"
"See ya,"
When I reached the car holly and mum were staring at me. I don't why I didn't do anything wrong. The whole way home we didn't talk only holly stared at me most the way home. She didn't move. When we all got home I got in the house and all I heard was...
"Who's your new boyfriend?"
"He's not my boyfriend!"
" ok chill out but what did he say?"
At that moment I didn't know wether to tell her or not but if I didn't she might ask me all the time, but if I told her she might tell other people.
"....he said...would you like to come out......someday,"

I started to blush, she didn't make fun of me! I just needed some time though I mean it was a great day but everyone kept throwing insults at me about my mum on drugs. I just need time to relax I said so I walked upstairs and sat on my bed.
