apotheosis: also called divinization, is the glorification of a subject to divine levels and, commonly, the treatment of a human being in the likeness of a deity

A couple months go by. Yoongi finds himself in a flow that feels almost divine. Everything is going his way, sometimes better.

In Yoongi's house, the job from two months before is never mentioned, until one night, when he comes home covered in blood. He'd usually get cleaned in the headquarters, but he was too tired to go there, and his house was closer anyway.

Yubin is awake, and she's not alone. Unusually for the middle of the night, Yeeun and Yubin are having tea.

"Haven't seen your car anywhere," he says, peeking into the kitchen.

Yeeun eyes him up and down, and makes a funny face.

Yoongi chuckles. "Not my best look, I know. I'll wash up and you'll tell me what the hell you're doing here." When he climbs the staircase, he doesn't think much about it, but as he stands in the shower, red water draining from around his bare feet, Yoongi realizes how not normal this situation is.

Yeeun and Yubin - okay, that he could understand. Not at 3am, drinking tea. And on top of that, he didn't know Yeeun would be coming, which is, again, not normal. Something about it bugs Yoongi.

When he walks into the kitchen, Yeeun immediately fires a question. "What did you do? And why didn't you ask me to do it with you?"

"Easy job," Yoongi says, pouring himself a glass of water. "And kinda on a whim. I didn't have much of a plan."

The silence is telling. "You? Didn't have much of a plan?" Yeeun asks. "You? A planning freak that has to have every detail worked out?"

"I didn't have time to make a plan," he says, leaning against the counter to look at them. Something is off in the way they are both behaving.

"So?" Yeeun presses. "What job was that?"

"Just some cleaning."

"Why are you so secretive?" She frowns. "You're not telling me much these days, Min Yoongi. For example, you haven't told me the truth about Jungkook's father."

Yoongi glances at Yubin, who's looking into her cup, and knows she told Yeeun.

"I haven't because it was too dangerous, and I didn't want you to do it," Yoongi says. Frankly, he was going to tell her, but soon after those missions became something between Yoongi and Jimin, the two of them being the masterminds, and bringing Yeeun into it all of a sudden didn't feel right.

"But it's been two months ever since," Yeeun answers. "You could have told me. And what about today? That much blood doesn't come from one person. Neither was it yours."

"Yeeun, I'm not a kid." Yoongi sighs. "You know what I do for work."

"The last time I actually knew you were a thief. Your primary focus wasn't murder."

"I'm not doing it for the fun of it. I still do what I used to do, go after people who are not innocent. But there's so much money and shit you can steal."

"That's within your jurisdiction now?"

Yoongi frowns. "This is not your world, Yeeun. We've established that. Just because you're good at it doesn't mean you know better than me."

"I'm not saying I know better than you but I can tell when someone is starting to freak out." She stands, facing Yoongi in a more powerful way now.

Maybe Yoongi would worry, if he hadn't started to feel untouchable in the past few weeks. Things are going his way. Not Yeeun's. Not anyone's.
