Chapter 4

Hello again guys! Wow I already have over 10 reads!! That's INSANE! But anyways in this chapter you're going to learn about Eren's past. Well at least the past I'm coming up with for him. So... as always enjoy!

Eren's POV
As Levi was leaning against my forehead I felt myself get a little tired. As I was just about to tell him that I should get home, he attacked my lips again. I instantly wasn't tired anymore. I put all my energy into kissing him. Finally, it died down and I said before we could start kissing again "I should probably get going, I'm really tired." but I was only saying it to an already sleeping Levi. There's no way in hell that I'm waking him up, Eren thought about how mad Levi would be if he did. Not to mention Levi looked adorable as he was sleeping. He sighed and without being able to keep his eyes open any longer he drifted into sleep. Which of course the nightmares came just like every other night.

The nightmare started the same way every single night.

"Eren get off your phone, and come in here and help me with dinner." my mom shouted from the kitchen. I sighed as I got up and locked my phone and put it on the charger. I quickly shuffled my way into the kitchen. My dad was on his usual medical trips that usually lasted a couple of months. Then Mikasa was at her friends house. So it was just me and my mom in the house tonight. As I was setting the table for two, I heard a loud crash coming from the kitchen. It sounded like a window just broke. I set the plate down and yelled into the kitchen "Mom?" There was no reply. I slowly walked into the kitchen to see my mom with a gloved hand over her mouth and a gun pointed to the side of her head. I quickly looked up and saw a masked figure. "Don't step any closer kid, or a bullet will be put straight through her head." Eren instantly froze from fear. "Now we're going to go to your parents bedroom." the masked figure said nibbling on my mothers ear. I saw the look of pure terror and disgust fill her eyes. "You won't be doing anything to my mom! You're going to leave now!" I tried to say forcefully. He just looked at me and laughed. "You're forgetting who has the gun here." Shit. He was right, there was nothing I could do. My mom pleaded with her eyes for my to just leave. but there was no way I was going to let this pervert do anything to my mom. I suddenly charged at the masked figure and before he could do anything I kicked the gun out of his hand and tackled him. Little did I know that there was a second hooded figure standing in the corner. I heard a bullet slide into place and I instantly froze. "You put up a good fight kid." the figure said with a cold voice. "I don't mind murdering a kid if he's in my way." Eren saw his finger push down on the trigger and he snapped his eyes shut as the shot rung through the air. When he didn't feel anything he opened his eyes and saw his mothers dying figure laying on the floor. There was already a pool of blood next to her stomach where I saw a bullet wound. I quickly crawled over to her and held her dying frame in my arms with tears streaming down my face. "Eren... just know that I-I love you... tell Mikasa too..." she whispered with her last breath. "No! Mom please don't die!" I was suddenly filled with uncontrollable rage. I gentle set her dead body down on the floor and lunged for the gun I kicked out of the guys hand earlier. I pointed it at the man in the corner with murder etched on every line of my face. "You bastard! I'm going to kill you!" Eren said putting his finger over the trigger. I then felt a ringing in my ears and my shoulder was on fire. I quickly dropped the gun and landed on my knees. "Whoops... my finger must have slipped." the man said with an amused expression and suddenly the one I kicked early was on his feet. Just then I heard police sirens outside and I quickly looked outside the broken window to see police cars parked in my drive way. The guy in the corner said a whole string of swear words. The police kicked down the door and swarmed in. "Guns down and hands up!" The first police men said then looked down at my mothers dead body, and my bleeding form. "Now!" He shouted. The guy in the corner reluctantly put his gun down and his hands up. The one I kicked earlier also put his hands up. The cops quickly rushed in and put their hands behind there backs. "You have the right to remain silent and anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law." the cop said while roughly pushing them both outside and shoving them in the back of the police car. "Come on kid. You're bleeding really bad, we have to get you to a hospital." he said gently knowing I just watched my mother die. I was numb, the pain from the bullet didn't even compare to the pain I felt inside my chest after realizing I would never hear my mothers voice again. Or I would never hear her beautiful laugh, with her pearly white teeth showing. I honestly have no clue how I ended up at the hospital, but I woke up next morning with a puffy-eyed Mikasa sitting next to me. My dad never came back from his medical trip.

I shot up and instantly felt a presence on my chest. I started looking around in confusion until I remembered I was at Levi's. Levi apparently woke up by me moving. "Good morning, brat..." he trailed off after seeing my face. "Are you- are you crying?" He asked me. I quickly wiped my face and turned away in embarrassment, my cheeks flushed. "N-No." I said stubbornly. "Okay." He said suspiciously. "Well I'm going to go make some tea." as he left I picked up my phone. Crap. I had over 70 new messages and 30 missed calls, all from Mikasa. I groaned and then pressed the call back button. She instantly picked up. "Eren!? She screamed into the phone. "Yeah?" I asked sheepishly. "Where the heck are you!? You leave the house only saying that you're going out and then you never come home!?! I thought you were dead! But of course I wouldn't know because you didn't answer your phone, you know that's what phones are for right!?" I held the phone away from my ear so I wouldn't go deaf from her screaming. "I'm really sorry Mikasa, I didn't mean to make you worry. I'm at a friends house and we were hanging out yesterday and we both fell asleep. I really am sorry." he spoke quietly into the receiver. "Wait, you're actually hanging out with a friend? You haven't done that in months." she had stopped screaming and it sounded like she wasn't even mad anymore. I had to smile at her sudden change of tone. "Yes Mikasa, I'm actually hanging out with a friend." he said. "Are you having fun?" She asked. "Yep." "I'm so happy for you Eren." she said sounding like a totally different person than when we first started talking. "Well, I'll be back home in a little bit." Eren told her. "Okay, I'll see you then, bye." "Bye." the I hung up on her. I sighed as a laid my head back down and locked my phone. Then I remembered last night and it brought heat to my cheeks just thinking about what me and Levi did. Levi came back into the room and set his tea on the coffee table in front of him. "Thanks." I praised him while grabbing the mug and taking a sip. "No problem. Was that your sister you were just talking to?" "Yeah." I said. The corner of Levi's mouth went up a little bit "She sounded more like your mother." Levi said. Eren just took another sip of tea at the mention of his mother. Then he asked "You could hear her?" "Tch... it was pretty hard not to, the way she was yelling." Levi said. Then Eren asked the uncomfortable question "So... umm about l-last night?" "What about it?" Levi asked. "Well I-I mean we k-kissed like a lot, so a-are we still only f-friends?" Eren asked while looking away and blushing brick red. Levi's mouth transformed into a full on smirk and then he said "That depends. Do you still want to be only friends?" Levi asked while raising an eyebrow. Eren quickly shook his head 'no'. Levi let at a little chuckle and then said "Okay. But before we can be together I'll have to break up with my girlfriend." as Levi said that, Eren choked on his tea. "You have a girlfriend!?" Eren asked shocked with his eyes almost bulging out of their sockets.

Well that's it for this chapter and I know it was kinda sad but next chapter will be way more upbeat.
