Hyunjin observed how Changbin interacted with the large group of idols he had acquainted himself with, sneaking glances and watching from a safe, introvert's distance at a social event Stray Kids was invited to. He would've stayed home and let the other members go to represent the group but hastily volunteered once he heard Changbin's chipper response, happy to go just to meet his senior hyungs whom he had come to regard as friends over time.

He dismissed the people around him, bored by their idle talk.

Changbin's attention was stolen from him, as a senior group flocked around Binnie, seemingly bombarding him with greetings. All Hyunjin could focus on was how one of them occasionally caressed Binnie's waist, how another would pull him forward with a hand firmly placed on his lower back and their wandering eyes and endeared expressions.

Changbin didn't help Hyunjin's jealousy from spreading, being his cute self, making his hyungs coo at his mannerisms and aegyo, innocently indulged in the attention he was receiving. Hyunjin noticed Binnie's blushing cheeks and fought the urge to intervene somehow. His mind raced with irritated thoughts.

Hyunjin looked at them all in the eye with a cold expression, before bending down and kissing Changbin right at the corner of his mouth while his hands pulled him close by the waist.

Changbin blushed a deep pink, taken by surprise and Hyunjin played it off cooly, saying,
"So I see you've already met our Changbin."

The men all looked taken back, caught off guard by Hyunjin's imposing aura, almost shouting at them all to back off just by his stare alone. He held Changbin close to him, not hiding his hostile glare at all.

The others nervously went back to their banter, some raising their eyebrow at Hyunjin, irritated at his aggression, others just backing off.

Regardless, Hyunjin just looked down at Changbin, who had become quiet and nervously twiddled his fingers, his cheeks pink, preoccupied with what just happened. Hyunjin's gaze softened and interlocked his fingers with Changbin's, letting go of his waist in hopes of relaxing him. Binnie looked up at Hyunjin as he held his hand, blushing and still flustered.
